not sure. but if that's the case for him, that sounds heartbreaking, too. imagine not knowing why. have wondered why he hasn't been reborn yet. when he said he has memories of his past life, that means he knows he's been in jumadeung for that long. is he waiting for his wife, the one he can't seem to fully remember? if he is, maybe he knows--in some way--that his red string has been cut?

@@fangirlingpengwing I think he knows that his strings was cut because his partner committed suicide. I think that's the only way for the strings to be cut,but it was obviously not him. And the reason he always wears a sleeve or formal wear is because he hates to be reminded of his partners suicide. Or he might wear formal clothes all the time because he is just that formal and professional. And that why he hates those that committed suicide even if he don't really remember all of his past life. Him forgetting his memories about his wife even if he remembers his past life must be the punishment for Koo Ryeong in one way or another. But this is just my theory tho,it might be wrong all together 🤣

I think he lived another life after her suicide, one he remembers and chose Jumadeung after. So I don’t think he knows if or why his soulmate string is cut, but that sense of emptiness scarred his soul from having lost her to suicide never left him, that’s why he hates suicide cases so much. Although he doesn’t remember the reason but his soul carries the pain of his loss, regret and remorse. He is suffering so much but he doesn’t even know why, he just instinctively hates suicide cases, is drawn to her and bonds with her but feels betrayed by her making choices without telling him again and again. I think the boss purposely got them to work together as a way of bypassing the strings cut rule, she didn’t kill herself selfishly, she did it to protect him from becoming a mass murderer. I cannot imagine his rage later when he finds out the truth, he’s asked her before and she lied to him. Cut him out again and again. I just hope he doesn’t use the promise she owes him in a cruel way due to his wrath.

Havent seen yet..but what I discovered on you tube is she commited suicide after she has been raped by bad people that brought woman away...and (maybe) she was saved by him and come back to her hometown but was a fallen woman in the mindes of her familie and the villagers...he loves her and gets cracy after rumours and bad mouthing and kills people . Her mother in law wants also that she sacrifice her to gain back their honour to the familie ...because they all think she is a fallen woman(maybe she is )...and she commite suicide to stop her husbands behavior (killing to stop the rumours)..thats my conclusion..greetings from Austria

oops sorry sometimes the replies don't appear. but P. Rich has some of it right. She does get kidnapped, but she escapes, saves all the other women, and gets to go home because she's smart and resourceful. only to... sigh... be ostracized by the entire community that she and her hubs helped. she commits suicide to keep him from killing all the villagers who keep spreading false rumors about her. also, her mom in law pressures her into it. that was all from the latest episode last saturday. only 2 more episodes left.
