3:43 that's a really cool arpeggio pattern, I wasnt to try it out. Do you have anything more like these symmetrical patterns?

Would not a electric Double Bass with octave pedal (up) be great as a cello/violin for melodic solos etc? I mean for someone that is used to the bass interval between strings etc.

I was just thinking about that today with my cello.. I wanted to see if my NUX mighty plug pro had some kind of a octave pedal, but unfortunately not.. I thought about getting an octave pedal, but I also don't want to get extra gear that I need to carry around.. I just really enjoy the simplicity of a simple plug like the mighty plug pro..

@@TomoyaAomori yeah because i dont really like to play "bass solos" its kind if boring instead of playing melodic like frettles guitar. I have a 7 string frettles bass so that is the plan with that (but than i dont need octave pedal with that range).

Very nice comparison. I am a double bass player and when comparing higher register with cello, the double bass is always falling behind in brightness and projection. Solo register a kind of more muddy than cello. So I was wondering how would sound a double bass with added fifth string for solo work. Have you tried maybe NS design 5 string double bass?

There's a tuning that bozo uses a lot and that's been used to play other repertoire and that's high c tuning. You take out the low E and replace it with a high C string: so you have ADGc 👍

No, I haven't tried the 5 string NS bass, but in the past I've experimented with 5ths tuning on double bass (cello tuning but 1 octave lower), plus I added the high E string for the 5th string. I really felt that the 5ths tuning made the bass less "muddy", especially for solo works. Of course you can say muddy is depth, and less muddy is thin, but I was able to play lots of amazing music with that tuning! Of course for 4ths tuning I agree that either solo tuning or having a high C string is pretty common for bass players who want to play high 😁

I've have seen your other videos on classical works with 5ths tuning and it's sounds wonderful and I agree the 5ths tuning is less muddy than 4ths tuning. The thing is if I add the high C then I loose the bottom end, that's why I was looking for the 5 string double bass to have both possiblities reaching cello high registers with high c and stil having the bottom end. Solo tuning is fine but I play in a jazz trio, so that would be too much work of transposing jazz standards to solo tuning. What I wanted to ask you is what is your opinion on NS design EUB in terms of sound with both pozz and arco.

@@AlCaponeBand-o2h I see. I haven't played NS basses, but I do know someone who is selling a 5 string double bass, if you are interested. Please email me at tomoyaaomori@gmail.com if you are.
