At 83, and a native New Orleanian, I've directed all my friends and acquaintances to play the attached version upon being notified of my passing. This is the only version which makes me cry and laugh simultaneously! Tears of emotional pain pour from my eyes while my body shakes uncontrollably with laughter! It describes our "human condition" perfectly! The above version, while technically excellent, is just not on the same emotional level for me.

Tom, I'll let you in on a secret : when this was a HIT in the sixties, by the Animals, I hated it ! It was played everywhere and everyday here in Holland. I've been lisitening to your music for several years now, have enjoyed it immensely, but never listened to your House of the R.S. Now, accidentally, I heard your version and I am flabbergasted.....
