Toms River imposes curfew to combat pop-up parties, large gatherings

Many Jersey Shore towns have been trying to keep up with large groups of teenagers and pop-up parties, and now they're imposing curfews; CBS2's Kevin Rincon has reaction from Toms River residents.

Some thoughts 1. I can't understand some of the comments bc they are so poorly written. It's not easy to write, I struggle myself now but was much worse when I was young. 2. If they keep up the large parties the real estate market might return to reasonable prices, so keep it up. 3. When us baby boomers were young we did the same but could rarely afford to get to the beaches. 4. If you're doing "bad" things you'll regret that behavior later in life. 5. I wish my parents cared enough about me when I was in this age group to stop me from doing all the stupid things I did.

This is very annoying but please don’t act like it’s just people coming from out of town going to these parties and starting them. In Belmar I’ve seen plenty of people and kids who live in the area literally start these parties and have their friends come from all over. This isn’t necessarily an issue from people out of town this is everyone involved from all over including those towns. Your town is not innocent but I do agree this is out of control

1:26 They used to have curfews in Berkeley CA in the 50s The cops made the parents responsible for their kids. If the teen had to be out past curfew, like some jobs, the parents had to sign a note

Uhm as someone who lives and grew up in Tom’s River getting dropped off in seaside as a teen by a parent has always been a thing ppl have forgot it’s always been like that. Ppl got used to not seeing kids be kids for 2yrs 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’m more worried about the weird ass adults that linger in seaside over the teens

The kids want to have fun. How bizarre. How can their parents allow this behavior? Seriously. Get NJ & NYC club promoters to start throwing parties for teenagers in clubs that were hit hard by the Pandemic.

@@johndear1592 any club that would go along with this brainstorm would have to be out of their minds .Do you realize the ramifications of something like this if these kids are rowdy on the streets imagine how rowdy they would be inside these clubs. And what if one of them gets hurt or maybe killed ? And since when is it’s other peoples responsibility to look after these kids…who happens to be minors by the way..these parents need to take control of their kids. Stop making excuses.!!!!!

Chaparone is an English word that describes parents being in spaces where teens gather to ensure their well being. Teens used to go roller skating at clubs in the 80's & 90's and their parents would drop them off & pick them up alive and well just like when your friends had their B-day parties at nightclubs. I'm not understanding your message at all.
