You are the man!!!! I descaled after watching your descaling video and was still getting a half full cup and the lights still kept blinking. Followed your needle cleaning tips and discovered the top needle packed full of grounds. A quick clean out with a paperclip and the machine is working like new! I bought this machine based on your excellent review video and it has turned out to be my favorite coffee maker. You're the best!!

THANK YOU! I kept trying to descale my coffee maker (because the lights kept blinking, and I couldn't make coffee. Nothing worked. I wasn't able to pull the inner part apart (my grip strength I guess) so I used the paperclip ANYWAY and ran it under water and everything works now! Instant Pot needs to update their manual because it's bare bones. I'll let them know they have you to thank for helping so many of us with this problem.

I cannot thank you enough for this video. My coffeemaker broke yesterday and I was a wreck for the past two days looking into buying a new one. Perfect! Thanks for the video - your clear explanation fixed the problem! My only modification was because I couldn't find a paperclip so I used a GUM soft-pick (toothpick) and it did the trick. It's also flexible with little bristles so perhaps gentler on the needles. I'm so delighted that my coffee maker is working again!

after attempting to use the "cleaning pod" and the pot kept beeping...i reviewed your video. I cleaned the lower needle and all that, then I cleaned upper needle -- both holes and then tried to gently slant up to clean the area where water enters- and THAT fixed it.. at first i only cleaned one needle hole in upper (forgot there were 2 holes) ... once i did it all... my coffee maker was working again!!!!!! I love this coffee maker (RED) as it fits under the cabinet (only have 14 1/4" clearance)! just saved me $90 or so. ALSO, didn't remember your one suggestion -- RUN CLEAR WATER THRU IT MONTHLY to help keep the residue down! THANK YOU

How do I love thee, let me count the ways! I was so distressed when my Solo sent out less water and acted strangely. I did the usual run vinegar through it but it was spitting, hissing, making horrible noises while sending steam out the top. I thought it was a goner. I checked the maker's site and found no troubleshooting information. Did a search and found your videos. I learned how to properly run vinegar through the machine. Heaven forbid I dig out the manual! And your needle cure did the trick and brought my machine back from the brink of death. I routinely clean it and check the needle in the pod holder but didn't realize the top needle clogs with time. It was like cement when I proceeded to dig the grounds out. Works like a new now. Thank you thank you thank you. I like this machine so much better than the higher priced machines that don't last. I utilize the bold button and like that it makes hotter coffee than the other brands. You are awesome and I will subscribe and check out your other videos.

I wasted like 3 kcups tryna get it to work 😂 But I had no idea those for holes at the top of the needle needed to be cleaned out and it worked as soon as I cleared that out of coffee grounds! I ran a couple cups of water through it and so many grounds came out too so I’m so glad I cleaned it. Thank you again you are a lifesaver!

I've been trying to like this new coffee pot for a couple of months now. First one malfunctioned and I got a replacement from Instant for it. Second one doing the same thing after just a couple of weeks. Oh my. I watched your video and tried your techniques. It worked! I'm on my second unit, having sent the first back via warranty. Started failing each time after about 3 months of use. On the warranty replacement and...started happening again. This was the problem. Thanks for instructions on how to clean the top one, I think that's the real culprit.

I use my own grounds with the supplied kcup adapter and it leaks a little almost every time and it's brand new. Many on Amazon have commented on this. If anyone has any hacks to deal with this I would like to hear them. I still like this machine and I just keep a piece of folded paper towel under the spot it drips as it isn't much but VERY annoying. It runs down thw K cup handle so I'm sure it must have something to do with the gasket sealing when it's locked down for a brew. Can't believe some thing like this got by the designers. Still it has so many features I like I'll keep it and hope it's usable for a couple years at least. Anyways, thanks for the tips as I'm sure they'll come in handy at some point!

I saw a previous video from Just a Dad that if your kcup is too full, water will leak out the front. I just received my solo today but watched his video last night. They recommend only 2 TBSP of coffee. Watch the unboxing video.

I just purchased this solo instapot brewer. Using the K cups i get very little water flow and lots of sputtering - the coffee is clear. After the cycle is finished it beeps constantly

Bummer. Didn't work. All three lights flashed with beeping sound. I cleaned the areas with a paper clip as you mentioned (they weren't near as dirty as I thought they'd be). But it's still flashing all lights with the beeping sound as before. Only other thing I can think of is descaling, but two lights didn't flash indicating that. Bought it in January with an extended warranty. Whatever suggestions are welcome. This has been a great little coffeemaker until today. (Btw, I doubt seriously I've run it 300 cycles.) Thanks!

The problem im having is that for some reason my instant coffee maker is not doing any other brew sizes except the 10 oz dispense. I've just bought this machine and I have tried to cycle it and automatically it just does the beeping so I took everything apart I cleaned it and I tried putting it back together and it still continues to beep I cannot fix this Need help

I had all the lights flashing and it wouldn’t descale. From using Swiss Miss hot chocolate, I think. That tends to clog up the needles, the basket, everything pretty bad! I use R/O water, so it doesn’t scale up much at all. After cleaning the needles and basket, I was able to de-scale it. Now it works again. But why doesn’t the book show anything about cleaning the needles? It doesn’t show how to remove the basket or get it apart at all…this is a big mistake on instant brands part since it is completely different from Keurig when it comes to cleaning the needles, and if you don’t pull the basket out and take it apart, you can’t do that. Since I’m 72 & not as strong as I used to be, I needed a pair of pliers to remove the basket. Remember pipe-cleaners? Those might work better on cleaning the orifices on the needle.

I'd suggest using a toothpick or something. Scraping metal on metal is never a good idea, especially for something that needs to stay sharp.
