yepp..im already thinking about an under seat drink cooler..some spray foam insulation and a drain plug..bodda bing bodda boom..lol

This would work great for that!! Drill a couple holes into the seat base and spray or pour in some foam. I’ve done it to a flip flop seat, but a bench seat would be amazing!! It wouldn’t fit a ton of drinks, but at least a 12 pack of pops I’d think!

I’ve actually never encountered a Bennington with an aluminum deck. Are you referring to the decking itself being aluminum, as in what the carpet or vinyl is glued to, or the underskinning that goes on the bottom side of the crossmembers to prevent splash/spray from hitting the deck?

Great question…the water drains straight down back into the lake or river. Keeps it simple and one less hose to worry about getting plugged or letting water go somewhere you don’t want it.

I know this is a different topic than the video but I have an 18 ft 9 in pontoon It's a 1994 185 lowe . I love my boat question is what size style and chain rope would you recommend for an anchor for my boat I don't like the one I currently have and I prefer not to throw one but I want to change stuff up. I'll be down at the lake at the Ozarks this weekend fishing overnight and thinking about using one acre on one side and told motor on the front in anchor lock I just want to not have so much of a swing back and forth

Pontoons are not the easiest hull to anchor because of the way they catch wind. It would likely use a ton of your battery to keep the boat in anchor mode or spot lock with the trolling motor if there's any sort of wind. I've heard great things about the "box anchor", and Pontoon Stuff even sells one. I've never used one before, but everything I've read about people using them has been positive. We use lead pyramid anchors up here in Michigan on the rivers we fish. I used one on my river fishing pontoon boat way back when and it held great. They're usually 50-70# and we use heavy duty 12V electric winches on the bow to deploy them.

Hey Tom my boat has those brackets and we have wondered about those, are they for that purpose? Are there other purposes for that bracket?

Usually the brackets are either for a bilge/livewell pump or a transducer for a fish finder or depth finder. Once in a while I've seen a speedometer pick-up on the back, but those are super inaccurate and GPS is what we're seeing in new gauges anyway.

Yeah, I’m not sure how/why the railings went up, but it happens. I’ve had prices go up between a deposit and my order for customers’ materials!! From what I’ve been told the seats should stay around the price they’re at, but then again I dunno if I’d risk it…plus this time of the year inventory can go hit or miss quick after a busy couple of weeks of orders for them!! If you know what you want I’d get it on order. My discount code got changed to TOMS5OFF recently. Working on updating all the videos that used to have the old code.

Hey Tom, Thanks for all you do to help us do our projects. Could I just do this live well in a seat base without the drop in "tank"? Seems it's losing space by adding the drop in, instead of just adding the pump and the drain directly to the seat base and run the fill hose in the seat arm?....Also, Any issues with mounting the pump in the transom? Thanks again!!

I've had that question asked in the past with some of our other livewell videos. The seat bases have drain holes in the backs near the bottom, so you'd have to plug those first. I'm not sure if the water would distort the seat base either if you filled it all the way up...it might bulge it out slightly being that full. If you're looking for a larger livewell option I would consider a stand alone style that'll hold all the fish or bait you want. You should be just fine mounting the pump in the transom. It might only work at slower speeds or while not moving, but that's typical anyway. And I'd try to mount it to one side of the transom as to avoid causing any disturbance to water flow to the motor (if using the pump provided in the kit that's the through-hull style). Hope this helps!

@@tnntrker All positive! Premier makes a great boat and they're built well, so you've got a great candidate to restore and make work best for you. That's the best thing about a pontoon boat...it can literally be transformed into anything you want it to be once you tear it down. Best of luck with your project!!

Wise words!! I usually lock out the trigger of the drill to prevent anything from moving. I like your idea better though!
