TomTom Go Expert 7" product review

The lovely people at www.kudauk.ltd.uk asked me to test and review this sat nav from TomTom, and this is what i found and thought....

I use the 6250 and have found that I google map a destination first then use the Tom tom for the truck settings and navigation. Looks like the new Tom tom has caught up to google with various routes offered and processing speed.

Hello Mat, Nice video 👍 And just what I was looking for! You got yourself a new subscriber 🙂 In fact, I noticed that on your GO Expert you DO have Live Traffic updates (or better said, you DON'T have the Traffic icon with the X to mark that you don't have the traffic uplink). My question is: how are you getting the Live Traffic updates to work with your GO Expert? A former collegue of mine had this unit months ago, but couldn't get Live Traffic, no matter what he tried. P.S.= If you still wonder, I confirm you that the clock to show the Current Time in the side bar is a feature that's been removed. All TomTom's satnavs based on the "Discover" platform lack this clock. You can still see the Current Time within the menu somewhere *while* you have an active route, but never in the side bar as you drive.

Ah ok. The traffic does seem to still be working, although it does vary with the technology in some countries i believe, eg Belgium

I sent mine back, don’t know if it was faulty or not but it was way too bright, for night driving, even on minimum. Also I couldn’t change the colour of the theme.

Does this have the live camera updates or is it only by subscription? Asking as I currently own 2x 6250 but one keeps restarting during my driving and I've often missed junctions because of it, hence I bought the second, which as of this afternoon continues to circle in a reboot rotation.

Hey mate, I have the Tom Tom go 7” and I want to get rid of the commercials on it. Even as I drive the commercials come on while driving interrupting the drive screen. Can you help other wise I’m going to chuck it out the window.

You can choose if you want to see it each time or not, if I remember rightly

Set in metere mate. But you can easly go on Google and convert you L H W.

I'm a coach driver and was wondering if this satnav would work for me. Coming across so many freaking diverts of recent can't afford to get stitched up losing all that precious time and getting snuffed in some Hammer House Of Horror village with dead end freaking roads 🆘‼️👈

Do you have problem with wrong restrictions. London Tottenham showing me weight restrictions 18.5t there is not restrictions 🤦‍♂️

great video, i currently have a 6250 was very pleased with it, but getting slower with every update, now it sometimes don't give current traffic delays. I've now had a email from tomtom with 20% off this new model, seems a bit strange lol This one does not have a sim card does it? do it uses much data from your mobile?

Hi, no mine connects automatically, and i often have problems with Bluetooth on various devices with my phone, whereas other peoples don't. Hope that helps

No option to have a clock. I was lead to believe that it will be implimented on a future software update.

@@suffolkmatireland also be careful with your routes in EU. Not so bad now but still shows some roads which are passable as restricted. PLUS it doesn't store your route and waypoints if you turn it off overnight so in the morning you have to re-input you destination plus any waypoints you had. But "yes" I agree with you, it is faster than the 6250!!!🤣

Personally I haven’t but I’m not a fan of Bluetooth as o have found that sort of thing with other devices

My colleague is now trying a different phone. Currently using Huawei's moving to a Samsung.
