Ailee was born in Denver and then moved to New Jersey where she grew up and moved South Korea in her 1st year of College. She has an incredible voice and is very talented saw her live a couple year ago at a concert in Melbourne Australia.

My favorite song by Ailee is “I Will Go to You Like the First Snow”, an OST of Korean drama Goblin. Her emotional expression in singing is outstanding. I would suggest her performance on Dingo's Killing Voice so you can sample a medley of her songs! One of my favorite male vocalists is a Scot/Italian singer named Paolo Nutini. I describe him as having a dirty, gritty voice and just an amazing talent. My favorite song, very appropriate for today's world, 'Iron Sky', filmed live at the famous Abbey Road Studio or BBC's live 'No Other Way'.....he's one that when he sings you can see his passion for his song in every inch of his body. It was also a very iconic song in the 70's and every time Dolly Parton recorded it, kind of just in country, and Whitney's version did make it another level of popular though. In general a lot of Korean shows that have an audience are rather subdued. For one music show the group seventeen got in trouble with the network because their fans were being too loud, though immortal songs is more likely to have a standing ovation. Potentially because she was the first performance of the episode

Just a little FYI for you. Just love your reactions. First this song was written and sung in 1974 by Dolly Parton for Porter Wagoner!! Ailee was born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in New Jersey and so not to waste her talent moved to S. Korea and is one of the biggest KPOP stars. Now, I know you love So Hyang. Well, her BEST FRIEND is "PARK KI-YOUNG" a contemporary POP and some ROCK and has sung for 20 years. She decided to try Classical. So she sang NELLA FANTASIA!! Sarah Brightman set the standard for this song, but were standards meant to be broken??? Another Korean who has always millions of hits to any thing she sings is "J. FLA" her Billie Jean has 45 million hits and to me is by far the best cover!!! Every song she does is top notch and outside of Korea, nobody knows her!! Please don't miss these two!!

Apart from So Hyang and Ailee there are a handful of amazing S. Korean singers that are just as good if not better IMO, my all-time favorite is Cho Yong-Jin aka ALi, and then you have Park Ki Young, Son Seung Yeon aka Sonett Son, and Song So Hee. These women are all powerhouses and should be known worldwide and all are class acts. In order for you to appreciate these women, you have to have an open mind and disregard the language barrier, IMO Korean composers have done amazing job in writing some the most beautiful songs ever. She admitted that her role model was So Hyang in one of those competition shows. Standing ovation in Korea is hard man... it's considered rude to stand with people sitting behind you. It's harder than when Eminem tried getting black fans in his early days. Please get back to So Hyang and do "Everyone" for us or you can do Lisa LALISA :-) like the rest of the world.

Pls don't push your western culture & custom into eastern countries such as Japan, Korea, China, etc., that is, standing ovation is the custom of western countries. So pls do respect their own custom/ culture. First of all, those countries like Japan & Korea'd not sit on chairs in their houses but on the floor. In Japan, they always sit on their traditional floor called Tatami mattresses. As a result, there is no such a custom as standing up & applause. In short, there exist a great disparity in culture/custom btw East & West. I assume you are fully aware of it but probably that must have been a slip of the tongue.
