That's such a iconic song and that's why we heard millions of covers. Most of those made us feel like questioning 'why did she even think about choosing the song ???'. Because most of those singers had just commit suicide instead of showing off. Some who good enough were lucky to get the grade ... "OK" or "not Bad". Very Rare ones got the compliment after choosing to cover this song. And this is one of the very rare that can give you the satisfaction of both 'Emotional' and 'Technical'. The praise she got is totally well deserve !!!

I love Whitney Houston, I always thought we would never hear a voice with so much range, versatility, power, and emotion. But we have and it is So Hyang's voice. This is actually better than any live performance I have ever heard of this song and is every bit equal to the original studio version by Whitney. I am not putting down Whitney the Legend, just saying there is room for another legend. What a vocal monster this petite woman truly is!

Tom, she did it to you again - fun isn't it? I feel that comparisons to Whitney Huston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion are missing the mark. The more you see and hear her, the more you realize that she is unique, she is Sohyang. They have such lofty reputations, they are held up as the high water mark, but Sohyang manages to surpass them every time. Find her video of "The Power of Love" for more proof. Anyway, did you notice that, every time you see her, she looks different? I'm sure that's deliberate. This is my favorite performance for several reasons, not the least of which is her stunningly beautiful appearance. Uh, and her smile IS breathtaking, is it not? Cheers.

Great to see you again. Sohyang's rendition of "I Have Nothing" never fails to stun the listener. Kudos for noting the attitude she brought in this performance. Sohyang is a total professional and understands what song is meant to deliver. She always works hard to express the message with everything at her disposal to achieve the intended result. As for those who get restless for comparison between singers, I hope everyone would simply take a step back and just enjoy the amazing music they bring with the respect and appreciation they deserve. The truth is that all the singers have different voices with different approach to their music. At their level, it is just a matter of enjoyment of their art work. Thanks for your reaction on this one. I used to avoid this particular performance since the original one was imprinted in me and she does a lot of personal choices on her interpretation. But if you manage to break the mould of the original, you can appreciate the care and the artistry she manages to accumulate in her performance. Brilliant as always by this amazing lady. It's because if you listen to it twice or three times before you react, you won't get a sincere reaction. Sohyang once had a hard time for about two years because her lungs were not good. Even at the age of 43, I am still active as a singer. That's why I'm still one of my favorite singers. I love So Hyang so much. Her talent is excellent. Best. OMG. It is so beautiful. Incredible. There are other great singers like Sohyang in South Korea. Came across your channel and though I don't usually comment, I do agree with your assessment on this artist. As an experienced recording engineer, I know a gifted artist when I hear one. She is absolutely on par with all Diva's. Just because she's not Amerian doesn't make her less of one. Hopefully, she'll come to USA sometime on a world tour.

Jacques, true there are no bad choices, are there? "Everyone" is her masterpiece, no question. I mentioned "The Power of Love" because of comparisons to Celine. Sohyang doesn't do covers. The virtuoso in her looks at a song and decides how she wants to deliver it. Amazing. Cheers.

wooo I've been waiting!! Her and Dimash are technically on another level. She doesn't have stand out "alien" qualities like Dimash, but she kind of does with her RIDICULOUS tone in her head voice that is almost alien-like in how clear it is..Whitney doesn't even have that.
