Excellent demo. What speakers did you use in the cab? I'm very interested in giving the Ironman 2 a try to tame my '72 Super Lead a little. I had heard some concerns about using it with my Super Lead though. I contacted Tone King a couple of days ago to ask about it and this was their response: "So those old Marshalls have been known to push above 100W when you really crank them. I'd be cautious with hooking it up to an Iron Man." So, the concern may not be blowing up the speakers as much as blowing up the attenuator. This may be enough for me to choose a Rock Crusher since it's rated at 120w.

Great Video !! Thanks for sharing your experience with The Tone King Ironman 2. Most interesting to get your response. I am interested in how you might use The Line Out to drive FX Pedals. How would you ‘Return’ the FX Pedals ? Or would you only be able to go directly into a Mixing Desk, to ‘Return’ the signal? Or take the Line Out into another amp with an FX Loop ? The Owners Manual says that you can drive another amp with this Line Out. Also …. would you use a Balanced XLR ‘Microphone Cable’ plugged into The Ironman DI Output, to go into a Mixing Desk or Audio Interface??? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you can, my cab was isolated so it didn't have enough volume to do so

The Tone King is the best of it's kind but it is not cheap at $400.00 USD. I use a Bugera PS-1 Power Soak that is $120.00 USD. It is rated at 100 watts but a lot of 100 watt Marshall amps put out up to 120 watts. In short I would stick to using the PS-1 with Marshall 50 watt amps. I have used it with my 50 watt Plexi with no ill effects daily for 3 years without any problems. Yes the product is made by Behringer but it was designed and made in Germany for years and is now made in China but it was not dumbed down ...the spec is identical. I do not recommend using the line out or simulated speaker out. The simulation is poor and the line out is not separated from the control from the speaker. Turning down the level of the speaker turns down the level of the line out. It is however excellent for turning low for practicing at home or for taming the level for clubs. While I'm here l must put in my 2 cents in for the Shnobel Tone Daily Driver ..it is better than good I think in coming years it could become a classic. It is killer!!! So get one now and have not only a great OD but tomorrow's collectors item!!!

$400? That’s for the 30w model, this one is the big boy 100w version, about $800, well worth it.

@@cardbored_ Yes and no. It does much more than the average player needs. If your amp is one of the better gourmet amps than relative to your investment it makes sense. If your gig will in affect pay for all that it does than great. BiG BUT! The majority of those that could use an attenuator often have an old amp that has a value of less than $1000. Now add to that at the moment you have players with chops and a track record ...even celebrity that are all but broke after a year of C19. I know a few and they are very proud and are simply going to tread water ....but buy a gourmet attenuator is not going to happen. If one is clever and patient an amazing old tube amp that is valued on the books for $3000. can be had quite cheap. Maybe $1200. I have seen several over the last year. I just had to say no as they all 100 watt amps. It is a kin to a Ferrari ...they are worth it to. I have friend in construction that buys them . Enjoys them than for a few years than sell them for a profit. In short one has to have a reliable great with good ...not great but solid income,
