Sounds better than it has any right to for the size and price. I think you're wrong though for wishing it had a rechargable battery though as that would put a lifespan on it, until the internal battery dies eventually, while using rechargable AAA batteries would not, and in a pinch out and about regular AAA batteries are available anywhere.
