Have a SEB 3 with the mid toggle switch....I'm a CORT B5 plus..it has a NEW MARKBASS 3 band preamp....with some Barts....sounded like playing through a cup of MUD!!!...installed the TM in it ..and with the gain dial in the black cube turned up to about 40% ..it has as much gain as my Custom Bassmods J5 bass with their MC3 preamp....and that's a HUGE statement!!!!!... Installing a NEW Tone Monster Music Man replace!ent PICK UP tomorrow in one of my 90s USA made model Sterling!!!!!!!!

No. But it does greatly enhance the actual natural sound of your bass before you even bring in any bass, mids or treble.
