Have two of these and the reed case! Great products! Really make my tuning time short and frees my practice time to practice, not tuning!

Received my Tone Protector a few months back. Currently 87% at 76 degrees, can't complain. I do think it will help in preserving my reeds. However the general problem with living in the South is the heat combined with the humidity. Played at a large gathering last Friday, the Pipes sounded awesome during the first three or four stanzas, but, the room I was playing in was air conditioned, cold and as I kept breathing in the cold air my chanter reed became less sensitive to my gracings, owing I suppose to the cold impacting it restricting the reed. Was wondering if there was anything other Pipers have used maybe in their bag to curb this?

My protector still reads 86% humidity not 84% and I only have one packet inside. Is this within an acceptable range despite not being 84%?

86% is perfect! It’s very close indeed to 84!

Our band just bought many tone protectors but we don't seem to be able to get our humidity above 75%. I have tried both packages that came with it but still nothing above 75%.Anyone any ideas?

The best thing to do is make sure you are using two of the humidity packs. This time of year it might take a few days to get toe humidity level up to the desired level, especially if the reeds are dry and the hemp is dry.
