Fine teacher! All so well explained! Brought in a sympathetic way, not with 'you must' or 'you should' but with 'you could', 'give it a try' and 'be careful'. I like this kind of teaching!

We're so lucky to have the hand written scores for these.. they're such complete works of art in themselves.. been looking at them alot for a few years and always some gracious new Easter egg written by the composer in 1928 about how to play this stuff seems to appear.. #5 definitely an elusive one.. nice video though for the left hand it makes more sense to me geographically to play the descending minor thirds at the end of the first page just on strings 4 and 5 with the bass on 6 until you get to the open d which some how helps to anticipate the balance of the pretty g6 chord in the 1st position.. phew...

Amo o Villa!

Can you access all instruments on Tonebase on one singular subscription, or do you need one each for each instrument?

Google tr: I don't think I agree with some of the opinions expressed in this video. In my opinion, it is impossible to talk seriously about Villa-Lobos' Etude No. 5 without mentioning the modal nature of this study... this "strangeness" he refers to comes from the fact that it is a modal writing (but in more than one mode at the same time)... there is also the connection with Bartok's writing (polymodalism), the musicological aspects that link Villa-Lobos' music to Brazilian folklore, etc... all of these elements should come before any analysis of finger movement. At least that's what I think. With all due respect, although Professor Gabriel Bianco is a great guitarist, I found the video very superficial... especially when compared to other Tonebase videos. In any case, I am very happy to see a video about one of the Etudes of our great Villa-Lobos being addressed by a great guitarist. Thank you for sharing.
