This is one of the greatest piano lessons I have ever heard. Norman Krieger takes apart the Tempest sonata by Beethoven (which can be daunting) with humor and ease and specificity that makes the entire piece open up. It has been such a pleasure to practice. He approaches the difficult passages with easy to apply technical tips as well as the spiritual keys to reach the heart of the piece. Thank you.

I alternate between the left hand right hand in the triplets. For example in bar 21 I use the left hand for the triplets instead of moving the left hand over for the meolody.

Always ideal to create your own exercises with each piece and movement. That's how I go about studying in general. I don't even practice my scales as much but it sounds like I do when I'm finish mastering a piece.

Schnabel has a very useful hint for playing the tremolo triplets which is musically better but it's a bit more difficult. Don't play it is triplets!!! Play it is doublets!!! Still six notes but X x X x X x instead of X x x X x x which creates an awkward shifting accent pattern.

I've seen the left hand play melody on some performances & the right hand on others... did Beethoven indeed to have left hand take melody aka Pathetique?

Well, what a happy accident. I just so happen to be preparing this piece for a recital. Luckily, it appears I'm pretty solid in my technical approach;)
