ToneX was the best for pretty all but QC had more low end on the clean amp bassman. ToneX often lacks some low ends, that’s why I push imput trim and 120-300Hz

Well you only have to look at the waveforms to see how different the Kemper sound is, compared to the real amp. I use and love my Kemper but, it does now seem to be the less accurate at profiling/capturing. Having said that, I'm more than happy with the tones I use with my KPA.

Being accurate isn’t essential for sounding good. I usually think of the Kemper as having the essence of the amp and creating something similar, but new.

@@aphekrecordingstudio4274 I totally agree. And I'm more than happy with the tones I get from my Kemper. It effortlessly copes with the requirements I have (mostly play classic rock style covers), and it was an absolute game changer when it was released. I just think that we've now seen profiling/capturing/cloning technology advance quite a bit since the KPA was released. ToneX in particular seems very impressive. I think IK Media could/would claim a huge piece of Kemper and QC's market if they produced an all-in one unit along the lines of Kemper Stage or Quad Cortex. But I'm in no hurry to move away from Kemper though. It does still sound fantastic, and still gets sporadic but useful updates, and does everything I need it to.

I thought the Kemper and ToneX sounded best. The ToneX was the most accurate. The Kemper seemed a bit brighter, but very similar. The QC’s profiles all sounded under-gained compared with the source tone.

Good stuff sir, I enjoy those videos. Very systematic. The tonex seems pretty impressive. I have had a kemper for about 18 months and I really enjoy it. I recently got a Friedman little sister 20 watt head and and 1x12 Friedman cab, but so far I seem to prefer the kemper !! I know that’s crazy but I play at low volume at home, so maybe the Friedman just needs more volume to shine. Regardless I’m sending it back from a refund and sticking to the kemper. It’s hard to beat for what I’m doing. Maybe I’ll try and tonex at some point. Cheers

Not crazy at all crazy. Different needs and situations and the Kemper still sounds good. Most amps need to be turned up to at least 3, to start opening up, which is usually pretty loud for most homes.

Real amps sound better than captures in this video, then QC, then Tonex and last Kemper, in my opinion.

@@aphekrecordingstudio4274 Yea, real amps sound the best at the right volume, which is. Volume many can’t pull off at home. That’s why I have to go digital/ modeling. It sounds better at low volume then the amp. I recently got a Friedman dirty Shirley 20 watt head and 1x12 cab but returned it because my kemper sounded better at bedroom volume.

No. I did choose amps the Kemper struggles with, though. I wanted to hear how the ToneX would handle them. So I knew it wasn’t the best demonstration of the Kemper.
