Great material! Love the very dedicated approach to bo-tonfa kumite. Looking at all the basics, almost every move is in Isshin-Ryu's Hama Higa No Tonfa kata. Thank you.

Y antiguamente en los 1500’s no avían armas de fuego que fue cuando los campesinos japoneses empezaron a usar las tontas por qué no se permitían las armas amenos de que fueras un Samurái.

what is the name of this master?

This is Mikio Nishiuchi, who studied Matayoshi Kobudo under Shinpo Matayoshi and Kinjo Takashi.

@@frederickdsmarshall Thanks for the answer. His kata performance is different from the standard in some parts, right? And the location of the "kiai". I've been watching Matayoshi's kata recordings and I've seen some differences. Or is it just a "version" of execution.
@frederickdsmarshall2 жыл бұрын
@@gray6032 Yes, I think what we're seeing here is derived from an older version of the kata, from before Matayoshi Shinpo and the Kodokan stabilized the curriculum in 1972 or thereabout. Mikio Nishiuchi studied with him before that, so his kata and techniques reflect one of a number of older styles Matayoshi tried out. There are other performers around who preserve even older versions of the kata than this. There is an interesting diversity in the Matayoshi Kobudo community.
