Awesome épisode as usual. I agree that it is the best Day walk in NZ. Important to try and find a day midweek if possible to avoid big crowds that can turn up on weekends.

I'm so glad you did this walk so I don't have to! I have done Hooker Valley this year and loved it but if I tried the Tongariro Crossing I'd need to be rescued! Well done you two.

You had a great weather day. I haven’t done this hike but Hooker Valley that was OMG ( I rate it my number 1 ) I probably would take the higher time range 10 hours lol. It does like an awesome hike thanks for sharing

Yes hooker valley is our number 2 hike! It was covered in snow when we went and absolutely magical!

Cant wait to do this walk (planned for 9th dec 23 ) tried to do it last year but the track got closed when the levels were raised. So excited now ive seen you guys do it

I’ve only done Hooker Valley and absolutely loved it. This one is on my list but not sure I’ll get the do it. Crazy that you met a couple from Coffs Harbour. I am from Newcastle NSW and got to Coffs for work regularly.

We loved the Hooker valley too! It’s our number two walk in NZ after this one! If you get a chance definitely do this one, it’s amazing, with good weather 😆

Did you have to pre book the NZMCA Car Park? Is it for members only?

You can just turn up to the NZMCA park, and yes they are all for members only i'm afraid 😃
