The cooling test shows, that the premium conversion kit does solve the heat issue completely. It will very unlikely ever reach 70° - so I guess it is save, to avoid the complicated, installation of the temperature sensor?

@@shalokshalom If you don't stress the motor with the max power for a really long time you should be safe without the temp sensor. We didn't have any reports telling us that anyone had overheating issues with the premium kit

Just got and installed my kit, and everything seems perfect! 9km at full tilt and it wasn't even warm. Thanks for the quick shipping to Canada and this great video. I want to make a suggestion though: at 27:11, the wording is a bit vague, and I misinterpreted it, had the stator insert on backwards, and ended up destroying its thermal pad trying to get the cover on. Thankfully I attached the heatsinks directly with thermal compound instead of the thermal pads, so I still had those on hand and with a bit of extra paste they seem to be working. But I'd recommend you word it: "Put the insert in place, remembering that the larger (or thicker) edge must face the gears and the thinner edge must face the cover, or the cover will not fit. "taper" and "must be at split" threw me for a bit of a loop.

Perfect job, I will send you for tuning when I will buy the motor. One question, can you also apply more grease on gears and blue gear specifically, or you think is enough and of good quality already from the manufacturer?

It is recommended to do a checkup once in a while but in general the amount of grease from factory is good enough. As far as we know, the grease used by Tongsheng is MOLYKOTE EM-50L. On the part list from your website there is no mention of the temperature sensor. Is it shiped with the kit or do we have to buy it seperately ?

Our kits don't include the temperature sensor. You can purchase it separately in our store or source it on your own: ebikestuff.eu/en/tuning-elements/212-lm35dz-temperature-sensor-analog.html If you decide to buy it on your own please make sure to choose a reputable source. There are plenty of counterfeit LM35 sensors that won't work correctly. At least try to test it before installing if you buught it from an unknown source

Motor shell TSDZ2 is broken. Can I use the TSDZ2B shell instead? Will it be compatible with the original gear (TSDZ2) set and cover?

It should work. The main difference between the TSDZ2 and the TSDZ2B version is the nylon gear (blue vs white gear) and the main gear (additional one-way bearing in the B version). The main gear plastic cover is different in the B version

Can you connect a temp sensor to a 6pin controller?

Not really. The temp sensor relies on the throttle wires to send the temp info to the controller. The 6 PIN controller doesn't have those wires physically connected to the pin pads on the controller board. You can try to solder wires to the pin pads on the controller. Or use a bimetal sensor wired to the brake sensor wires. It will cut off the power when the bimetal reaches a given temp. It will act as a safety guard

How much does this effect the performance or longevity?

Depending on what you mean by performance. The worst you can do is to run this motor with the original firmware. OSF vastly improves the efficiency. The cooling mods allow for running the motor at a higher wattage for a longer period of time. Lower temperatures should result in a better longevity of the motor. I ran stock firmware at 750W without any cooling mod. My motor burned out a few days ago carrying a load up a hill after about 9 months of use. And here I am watching this video because I don't think you can do 750w TSDZ2B without cooling improvements.

gluing is terrible advice, especially since blue gear often needs to be replaced
