This part 3 of our tongue and groove accent wall and focuses on nailing the boards properly to the wall. I'm using a Bostitch finish nailer ( amzn.to/3chIRMg ) with 15 gauge finishing nails.

Thank you; this is exactly what I've been looking for. None of the other videos I found, showed this critical aspect of nailing the boards on. Some actually shot the nails right through the facing of the panels. Do the nails have to go into studs, or can they just attach to the panel below the one being installed?

Hi , so is it no needed to add wood battons behind it? I guess they do that only in order to level out a wall before putting t and g on. ..and not for any other reason like needing air flow between board and wall?

Battons are used to creat a solid nailing surface so the boards can be nailed securely. They can also be used to plumb and level as needed. In my case, I marked the actual studs on the wall and used longer nails to go through the drywall and into the studs another 1 1/2". No additional battons needed.
