Wow... This videos are amazing... I bought myself a beautiful chakra frequency tongue drum and have played it intuitively over the last few years a couple of times. 😅 Might have to practice... My left hand arm feels like a floppy fish!

The simplicity of these lessons I am encouraged to buy one.I am a drummer and percussion ist.This is interesting, so you don't necessarily need to play a Pacific tune but sound and drum experimental.Its also very beautiful and as well.

Yes, I love how approachable the tongue drum is. As a fellow drummer/percussionist, it has been so fun to incorporate rudiments and apply other snare drum techniques to the tongue drum to give more dynamics to the sounds and rhythms !

I play with backing tracks and follow along with the chords or incorporate my own style into it. I record songs that sound good with the drum, and it’s pretty amazing when you’re able to play it back and hear everything come together. Playing is one thing, but I started by recording, to hear what sounds good and what doesn’t. So many songs I’ve learned through just playing my tongue drum/ pearl jam, rolling stones, ect Highly recommend pink floyd backing track. I used marker and put what each Number is and began learning chords that way. I There’s limitless possibilities with the tongue drum

Love this 💕 will deffo be watching more. I got a tongue drum a few weeks ago and managed to learn my first song in the first hour following another KZbin channel who writes the key numbers at the bottom of the screen but haven’t attempted to memorise any more incase I forget the first one in the process 🤣 these techniques are really helpful. Thank you 🙏🏻

Hi, I noticed that your tongue drum has holes on that. May i know the reason? Should I drill holes on my one if I dont have them? Cheers!

The holes on the Kosmosky tongue drums are mostly decorative, so there should be no need to make holes in yours.

How do you record? I record the sound in my bedrooom and it reverbs too much
@rootrhythm4 жыл бұрын
Oh interesting. What type of mic are you using? I have a shotgun mic that I attach to my camera. It's about 2 ft away from the drum and is right overhead. Depending on the size of your bedroom, it could also be the sound bouncing off the side of the walls, if you are in a tighter space. Hope that helps.

What kinda of mallets are you using? My drum came with rubber mallets and im wondering will mallets like yours give it a different sound.
@rootrhythm4 жыл бұрын
Hi Uke. I've only played my tongue drum with soft mallets or with my fingers, so I can't speak from experience, but my guess would be that harder mallets would probably create a loud sound, but might be too harsh for this drum. Rubber mallets, could be a nice though. They would probably create a nice bounce and would be good for rolling. I'll have to look into this more. Thanks for the question.
