Your vinyl transfers and remastering work are simply impeccable! You are amazing! This is, by far, the best-sounding version that I've heard of this 12" mix.

"Mickey" is a 1981 song recorded by American singer and choreographer Toni Basil on her debut album Word of Mouth. Written by Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn as "Kitty", it was first recorded by British music group Racey in 1979, appearing on their debut album Smash and Grab. Toni Basil's version of the song was originally released as a UK single in May 1981, but was unranked at that time. Reissued in January 1982, "Mickey" quickly became a substantial British hit, reaching number 2. He entered Australia's Top 50 in April 1982 and took nine weeks to reach number 1, where he remained for two weeks. . Finally released in North America in August 1982, "Mickey" became a No. 1 hit in the United States and Canada at the end of 1982, a year and a half after its original release. Toni Basil changed Kitty's name to Mickey Mouse to do the song about a man. Racey's original song did not include the famous song "Oh Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind", which Basil added. For years it had been rumored that the name had been changed to Mickey because Basil had a crush on the Monkees' drummer and lead singer, Micky Dolenz, after meeting him on the set of their movie, Head, which she was the choreographer; however, this claim was rejected by Basil, who stated that she did not know Dolenz very well.

One of the rare songs for which I prefer the long version to the single edit!
