I agree! It was love at first hearing for me. I am perplexed and annoyed when Toni is referred to as a ‘one hit wonder.’ She was continually demonstrating her dramatic, dance and vocal gifts.

I remember this getting brief airplay on 105 KITS in San Francisco. Take a peek at the 45RPM picture sleeve to this song. Her hairstyle was wild to say the least lol.

Believe it or not, she's 40 in this video. Forever and always a great beauty, amazing choreographer and dancer, incredible stylist, and more than capable singer and songwriter. I wish Chrysalis had stuck with her beyond two albums; there's no reason she couldn't have continued to come out with great songs and videos like this and perhaps recaptured some of the glory she reached with "Mickey."

saltwatercb that's because she was in her 40s. It is unlikely that radio play an act over that age. Cher is the oldest female artist to achieve a #1 in her 50s with "Believe" in 1999 and that's was an exception. Things haven't changed so much since the 80s even though now is worse

Her choreography for herself and primarily other artists is incredible. Not just a pretty face but a true artist. Look beyond her pop videos, her career is amazing.

It wasn't until recently that I found out Toni Basil actually had been doing movies in the 60s with the likes of Elvis and Ann Margaret and was even one of the regular dancers in the beach movies with Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. That's amazing, because she looks great in this and the "Mickey" videos.
