I´ve served on a German auxilliary ship (A516) for two years.I went home 4 times only during these 2 years and we had just 2 CD´s on board: Tony Braxton "Secrets" and Depeche Mode"Ultra". This was 1995-97 and I can´t really listen to these albums to this day , without feeling the loneliness and seperation I´ve felt back then when I was just 19 years old. It was due to these artists and those circumstances, that I will never forget these times. They´ve elevated them and imprinted them to my brain like nobody else could´ve done it.

I think that this song is like the story of her and Keri Lewis when he left. When you hear the lyrics it's all right there. I've listened to it many, many times when it came out and you truly feel the pain. Toni puts her heart into it and it shows and has made her one of those artists that not only has that perfection gene in her but the thing of never wanting to give her fans less than her best. There's really no one like that these days. Just the ones that are from the 20th century. I really hope that I will get to see her in concert in 2025 hope 🙏
