Real Madrid sometimes have to do harsh business with the legends for the wellness of the club, but despite that, those legends understand, are still in touch with Madrid and the club honors them in return as well.

Well most of our top players left after the end of the season without proper heads up. You need time to organise these things. Kroos did it right. He had a discussion with the club and he informed them about his decision and they delivered the most beautiful send off ever.

Well, if you leave when football has almost left you, then you are less likely to have the same reception. This was from the players and the fans, who are seeing a player go during the peak of his career. Also, Retiring at Madrid vs Leaving Madrid to go to another club are 2 different things, not to mention that in most players case, timing never came out right.

Always strange when they show Klinsmann the bio ESPN chooses for him reads: 1996 UEFA Cup winner & 1997 Bundesliga winner. I would think 1990 World Cup winner & 1996 Euro winner would top that. Not a lot of great players retire from Real Madrid. We've always sold them when they still can play at higher levels. I've only seen Zidane getting a proper send off. But what our beloved Madridista brothers and sisters did for Toni, what the club did for his final time at Bernabeu should give players the aspirations to go out like this. I've never seen a better send off for any other player. From the fans to the players and the management - they did everything picture perfect. Now only one thing remains. Had it been a British midfielder who is retiring with as many accomplishments as Kroos has, ESPN FC would have made it a point to make a different video dedicated ENTIRELY to him twice every morning and twice every afternoon. But with Kroos Dan can't wait to change the subject and said the other day "one of the best...of his generation"; No, Bobo, Toni Kroos is one of the best ever and at least 3 times better than the best midfielder Britain has ever produced. Giggs and Scholes included, look at the titles and stats, when one of them managed to pass one of Kroos bread and butter passes the crowd went crazy. Just because you have an ostentatious league, doesn't mean you are better at football; I don't know what it's going to take to convince you brits that you have been one of the worst nations in playing football.

u realise there are 4 nations in Britain? the game was invented in Britain, and without their influence, there wouldn't have been such people as Cruyff, ...wait, rather than listing players, better this way - there wouldn't have been football. Brazil, Argentina, Spain, you name it, "british" people took the game there and taught them how to play. Kroos has been a quite unique player with few others comparable. But to say he's "3 times better than the best" British player is a bit of a stretch. You don't compare individual players with team stats. It's a matter of opinion. Players like Bremner, Scholes, Souness, Gerrard, Robson, and plenty others were great in their own right, and each of them could have replaced Kroos and won the same as he did in the teams he played in.

This player commands respect. So many retire in the wilderness - Saudi, Japan, MLS but Kroos retires at the top. His entire career was peak, never part of any scandal like some of the other 90s born footballers. Always been a role model - the last of his breed.

He's too blunt and straightforward as a person. Managing becomes more of a diplomatic job at the highest level, and it is highly unlikely he'll ever be one. He has his coaching academies in Germany and Madrid, and he seems to be quite a family man, so I think he has set himself up perfectly.

Real won the champions league in 2014 (record 10th) and 2016 (record 11th) that is before post 2016 and reached the semis in 2011, 2012 (won la liga with 100 points), 2013 and 2015. Real already had record 11 European Cups before 2016-2017 season and record 9 before 2013-2014 season, and yes half were won in color tv, now it approaching two-thirds. In other words, dominance in black and white and in colour. Also UEFA's president hates Real and especially Florentino Perez for having the idea and being at the forefront to create the European Super League and because of Perez's 'rogue' anti-UEFA plan the UEFA President threatened to kick Real out of UEFA European competitions and still wants to if any small opportunity arises for him. It is true that the President of La Liga admitted he is a Real fan but it is also true that he hates Perez more than he likes Real. There is no love lost between Perez and the power brokers of UEFA and Spanish Football. Also, the former president of La Liga and vice President of UEFA used to be a Barca fan. All Spanish fans and people who work in football except those of the big clubs (Real, Barca, Atletico and a few others) are either Real or Barca supporters but the vast majority (with a few exception admittedly) they are still professionals trying to do an honest job or who simply they just love the sport. Regarding cheating by football clubs and countries which there might or might not be (and there is the degree of cheating and who in the club is involved in scandal, is it just the president and his board (and and how many from the board) and has it filtered down to the coaching staff and players and to what extent or has it not), as I write, Real are not and have never been under investigation for cheating and there is no indication of such nonsense. In fact, its is Barca and Man city who are being investigated for corruption, bribery and cheating and who ironically share a similar coaching staff and directors of football and playing style. Barca and Man city are practically allies. Also Franco thing was started by Barca fans specifically that overrated Cruyff and Atletico fans who both won nearly the same amount of La Liga as Real during Franco's dictatorship. Also from 1939 to 1954 for the first 15 years of Franco's 39 year dictatorship (that is more than the first third of his tenure in power) Real did not win a single La Liga title, while Barca, whom Franco allegedly despised for representing Catalan culture, won 5 and Atletico Madrid (whom they say Franco supposedly also didn't like) won 4 during those first 15 Franco years and both teams continued wining during the next 24 years during years dominance. The European Cup started in 1954 and 1955 and its not like Spain is political and economic power to put pressure on UEFA to make Real win. And a team that cheats would definitely buy a way of going 32 years without winning the champions league from 1966 to 1998 and would also would buy a way out of not winning La Liga for 18 years from 1933 to 1954 (excluding the three years civil war) especially if they supposedly had a fan in Franco from 1939. Plus Real is not owned by oil money or buy anti American or Asian oligarch. We have a strong President but the clubs members of a few thousand own the club and the board can in a vote of confidence remove Perez or whoever is the President, there are elections, just like with Barca to be fair. No one can remove the Glazer owners who probably call it soccer.
