As a marketing professional, she is launching way too many brands that have no connection to each other and they are launching too quickly. I don't think she is broke but I do think she may not be making as much money as she has in the past, and it shows with the pace of the launches. The Sprinter launch is the one that is the most ridiculous. When I see Kylie, I don't think canned cocktails or drinking (I don't think the same about Kendall either with her alcohol brand). The Kardashians playbook of launching multiple cash grabs is outdated in the TikTok, algorithm-first era we live in today.

Hey, I found your comment very interesting! I'm curious and maybe you could explain how it's important that brands have a connection to each other psychologically? My guess would be that it will seem more authentic that way to the consumer and it 'binds' him or her more to a cluster of brands emotionally?
@hayaglamazonluxe
@hayaglamazonluxe 9 ай бұрын
@@matchaleche Hello thank you for responding! Sure I can explain. It's important for brands to connect with each other and have synergies and you tend to find that holding companies own and operate brands that connect (Louis Vuitton, Celine, Dior are all luxury brands operated by the same entity, LVMH). LVMH is believable because every single brand they own operates in the luxury consumer segment so all of their brands exist in a luxury universe that makes sense. Kylie has makeup, a flopped swim line, polyester clothing, a perfume line that seems disjointed in terms of the way it launched and now a vodka line. It is not cohesive and it doesn't seem believable to the consumer that these brands exist in a universe side by side.

Kylie lacks passion. She launches brands for the sake of elevating her finances not because she genuinely cares about the field that she is launching a brand in. We’ve all been told time and time again, to never start a brand for the sake of money. It will never work! You have to have the passion to continue elevating your brand even when it flops because you love it so much. Your passion, drive, consistency, and commitment to one brand will bring you success. And this is coming from a business owner with a passion for my field, I’m currently in the process of relaunching, not building a new brand. Also my dad made an interesting point about Kim Kardashian. Kim is successful because she gets one brand successfully running before starting a new venture. She doesn’t just serially launch new brands. She sees her brands through fully to their success before starting a new venture.

I never believed she was a billionaire. The makeup kits came out and it was first an "exclusive" on her website thing. Even when it got to make-up stores, there was just so little time for her to become a billionaire. There's no way she's on the level of Dior or even MAC in just a few years. She didn't create some new type of product that is in HIGH DEMAND and would be constantly used for years and years. So her becoming a billionaire so quick always seemed sketchy to me. It was all hype & Kris Jenner Marketing.

I work in marketing and my professional take on why her brands are unsuccessful is due to the lack of influencer marketing in her campaigns and the lack of quality in her products. She’s always the focal point of her campaigns and seems as if she refuses to give the spotlight to someone else, therefore she isn’t connecting with younger generation. Beyonce and Rihanna always include the new it girls in their promos and campaigns which only widens their fan base. She also hasn’t done anything to reconnect or stay relevant amongst her OG fan base. Being authentic, showing behind the scenes, and more personality on Tik Tok could’ve helped her tremendously. She lacks focus and these days people would rather support people who are passionate about their brands, not overpriced cash grabs.

But now, it’s harder to sell makeup to a generation that prefers clean girl makeup or soft glam when she has that connotation of being a Millennial beauty icon, especially when the filler in her face dramatizes her face rendering the top 2 makeup styles of Gen Z that are based on subtlety and softness kinda useless.

As a millennial, I always felt that her insanely young pregnancy had an effect on her popularity. Nothing against teen moms but her relationship was already so creepy and getting pregnant at that age when she was also in the prime of her career success made her look desperate to lock down a man, which was nuts because she was THE it girl. You KNOW that shit wasn't planned, and then she hid from the public (which I get doing as a preggo celeb, but given the situation it just made her seem ashamed or something). This millennial moms relate to her less, made non-mom millennials relate to her less, and she never had a chance with the Gen-Z crowd, especially since all the work on her face was done so early, she now looks like she's 40. I wish she'd worked on improving her formulas and maintaining her business instead of getting tons of work done and trying to lock down a garbage-tier man when she could have had anyone. Kylie Jenner has started too many brands, none of which really align with her except the makeup tbh. There is no intention behind the brands. It all just seems like a SOULLESS cash grab. Also, because her brand is so synonymous with her personhood, and it’s difficult to separate her from the brands because she is quite literally the PRODUCT! Even in her brand marketing across the board (from clothing to makeup, to skincare), she doesn’t even use other models…it’s all only her face and her body. It’s obviously going to be hard for the average person to see themselves using her products when she meets an unattainable/unrealistic standard. With all of her controversies, and the fact that we don’t know her as a person, people aren’t going to want to support her. She continues to miss the mark because she’s simply out-of-touch. It’s interesting because as she’s aged, her brands haven’t evolved. It’s like she’s stunted as that 17-year old girl with no industry experience.

It suits her personal brand too, because I personally associate Kylie with her motherhood. She's wanted to be a mom for so long. But perhaps she wanted to keep that sacred.. who knows

Kylie’s brand proves relatability matters no matter how much money you have. It became clear that her brand is/was a money grab. She’s not using it…she’s not pouring over every detail like we believe Rihanna does. It very much feels like someone made a product with her name on it and she did the bare minimum promotion and called it a day.

That’s just my personal opinion cos that girl is accurate, they could find ways to make passive income, I’m sure they have stocks and other inverstments (if it was the money). It’s about keeping the Kardashian/Jenner FAMILY relevant. As long as you’re talking about them.

Funny story: I was at the Phoenix airport, where they have both a Benefit Cosmetics vending machine and a Kylie Cosmetics one. I saw that the Benefit machine had a sign that said all vending machine prices were the same as they were online. Looked it up to confirm it out of curiosity, and it was true. I had time to kill to I wandered over to the Kylie machine, and while I'm in the middle of googling the prices of the cosmetics online (vs how they were priced in the machine), a woman came up and asked about the the exact question I was googing, lol. Kylie had products for $21 on her website that were $35 in the vending machine! I'd never tried any of the Lip Kits, so before we parted ways I asked this woman if she had. She was like, "Yes, and they suck!! They make your lips so dry!" We had a good laugh over it, so it's been pretty amusing to see how many people in this video/the comment section agree about the garbage quality. I used to want a Lip Kit SO badly. Now that I can afford them, I'm not dumb enough to buy one lol. Kylie really had us gagging for trash-tier cosmetics in the late 2010s, huh?

What Kylie is doing is called diversification. She's putting her money into different business ventures so that even if one flops, she'll still be able to get a return on others. It's actually a pretty solid business plan, and also encouraged for investing in stocks. You don't want all your money tied up in one thing.

As a marketing student, she’s doing too much launches, and each launch shadows the previous launches, and just everything fade away after 2 or 3 weeks of virality. it’s not a good look for her brands nor her name, she seems not sure , 0 passion and lost. Even the choices of the products are faaar from her personality, besides cosmetics-make up and maybe a clothing line. She needs to focus on 1 or 2 maximum brands to seem relatable, passionate and most importantly the ability to supervise on everything. Because a really passionate entrepreneur knows what really going on their business. And ppl love that

Celebrities are bored baby, when you acquire everything you ever wanted it gets boring real fast that's why they get into drugs and scandals because they have idle hands.
