I don't think that he can renew his license. I believe there was a huge debacle about one of his patients back when he was actually a doctor and working at such. He did something to this patient who was mentally ill girl. I'm not sure what all happened but it didn't result in them revoking his license. They did their best to keep it under the table and so he just let it slip on purpose.

ToniBryanne-how do I do a video for you describing my experience on the Dr. Phil show? Because I know exactly how they do it, and why they do it, and what they do. I was a guest, and it was the most humiliating moment of my life! I literally almost lost family members over the lies that were told about us meaning my husband and myself! And I said this before, but for some reason, KZbin won’t let me edit it, his fans were calling me a gold digger on Google, and KZbin, and he made me look like I was a struggling useless housewife, who never had a singing career. When the truth was, for over 35 years, I have been a very established Canadian recording artist, show tour producer for the military, lead singer in bjornagain, an ABBA tribute band, endorsed by ABBA themselves, and I owned my own dinner theatre. I shut down the theatre because I now have chronic pain and didn’t want to keep performing. But, on the show, he made it look like I closed a successful business sarcastically. he made me look like a total loser. Please read my other comments about how they don’t ask you questions, they get you separated from the other person. If you’re with another person on the show, the first day of taping is them repeating phrases for you to repeat back on camera. you do not meet Dr. Phil before the show, you only meet him live on stage. He honestly was so confused about my husband and I since we were told we were coming for a completely different reason, he never even had an answer for us for the live audience. He just walked off stage and said I will deal with you too later. we never saw him again. He controls what is said on Google, KZbin, and other forums. Like I said, when I tried to defend myself, I would watch my sentences be deleted in the same minute that I was creating them. So obviously, they pay somebody a salary to be a computer technician on Google. I don’t know how they did that! I almost lost my family because of Dr. Phil. In my opinion, he has lost sight of what a real Christian should behave like. He’s full of pride, and has no humility at all. And because I’ve said this, on other comments, I will just finish it off with the fact that Dr. Phil is a ratings driven show, and the producers are 25 to 30 years old, speaking into an earpiece that is in Dr. Phil’s ear. Every time he looks like he’s concentrating, he is truly listening to what the producers are telling him to say. He’s just a pawn in the game of daytime television. And, if you read at the end of the show, it does say that what he says is for entertainment purposes only, and if anyone is struggling with real psychological issues to contact a local psychiatrist or physician. Something like that anyway.

Dr phil gaslighting her 1 on 1 in front of a studio audience was disgusting enough, but when he brought out the producer so they could tag team gaslight her, no words for how gross that is. Phil wasn’t even involved in the conversation between Stephanie and bailey, so how tf would he know what Stephanie told her? He wouldn’t. Yet, he had the nerve to say bailey was “living in fantasy land”. How ironic is that? A man who wasn’t even involved in a conversation is acting like he knew everything that was said, and yet, the one actually involved in the convo is the one “living in fantasy land”.

@@angelaburress8586 nah. Some people won't be able to make a rational decision. People who are not mentally well, and minors, for example. That would be enough on it's own to impact the guests decision to go on the show. But it's not unlikely that there is even more going on. So a guest who is both struggling mentally, and a minor, at the same time. So the guests are vulnerable, and unable to think logically. On top of that, the people behind the scenes at the show, like the producers, will at best misrepresent, at worst outright lie, to the already vulnerable guests, to make them think it will go a certain way. The guests are convinced they *are* going to get help. But the show is setting them up to create car crash TV. On talent shows, the producers will often overhype the least skilled participants, to the point that they try to lead them to believe they are the best person they have seen, who has a strong chance of winning the show. So when they get to audition in front of the judges, and the judges react negatively, they will be more likely to argue back. These shows are manipulative, and exploitative at the best of times. But in this case, on more than one occasion they've picked someone who is delusional, lied to them about what they will experience, and set them up. They don't deserve it. They shouldn't have been set up in this way at all. Some shows completely script ridiculous segments. I think Jerry Springer used to do this. This is completely irresponsible.

As someone who is an alcoholic and just came off a two day hard binge…that makes me so mad about Todd. If I’m withdrawing and physically sick (if you’ve ever been through withdrawal knows you get desperate. Even if you don’t want it, even if you want to be sober with everything in you…if you leave me unattended with a bottle of alcohol during withdrawals, I’m drinking it. I’m also taking anything you give me honestly. Anything to make the withdrawal ease up.

I’d love to hear from Dr. Phil producers who left the show. The whole Bailey situation was clearly planned out, they went way overboard and hard on that issue to prove their narrative that she was a spoiled entitled brat. That was exactly what they wanted it to look like and they succeeded. He got the applause from the audience that looked like he stuck it to her and put her in her place. The producer was damn near tripping over her words because she knew she was wrong.

Thanks you for touching on this subject! Content like his honestly makes me pissed as someone who is trying to work in the psychological field. When we see big tv personalities abusing their guests like this for the sake of the treatment of patients with mental health issues, it just perpetuates the idea that getting help for your mental health is a bad or negative thing. We already have to fight so hard for the normalization of getting mental health help, and seeing someone abuse their position as a mental health professional is sickening.

I am a psychology grad student! We have talked about Dr Phil and his lack of respect for human beings and ethical behavior such as confidentiality. As far as him being a doctor, technically he would still be a doctor due to his PhD. However, his lack of license does not allow him to practice therapy. Because to practice therapy, you have to adhere by ethical guidelines which include confidentiality, not imposing values on clients, and not discriminating. Dr Phil has to refer the guests to an actual licensed therapists because he does not have one. Also, at the beginning of the show there has to be a disclaimer that reads that this show is for “entertainment purposes” because actual therapy would not look like what the Dr. Phil show is!

Another thing Dr.Phil did was let this one trans woman by the name of Diamond consistently get misgendered by her very transphobic brother. He didn’t think to consider that her mental health issues were because of living in such an unsupportive household with a family member that doesn’t choose to respect her identity, and he put her on full blast for everyone to see. It’s just so uncomfortable to watch him blatantly ignore any other factors that could lead Diamond to acting out and just blame it on her not “trying hard enough to be a better person”. It’s important that people DO put in the work to become better people and get a better life, but to me Dr.Phil always takes to victim blaming. Which is a thing Dr. Phil does very often, he constantly blames mental health issues that people have, on the people themselves, saying they don’t try hard enough and aren’t putting in the work. He doesn’t want to give logical advice to help them, doesn’t even name any places to give them the help they’re seeking, he just humiliates these people in front of a crowd that will unconditionally support him and whatever he says.

Dr. Phil offers his guests 10k to go on his show. That could change depending on how badly he wants someone to appear on. I know this firsthand since his producers reached out to a friend of mine a few years ago wanting her and her daughter to go on the show. Her teenage daughter had a 10 second Snapchat video go viral not for a good reason. She declined the offer but they tried really hard so that they could capitalize off the attention the video was receiving. That was when I started doing more research into Dr. Phil and his guests. I was shocked to find out what a scammer he is. The reason the show is even called “Dr. Phil” is because it’s illegal to call yourself Dr. (Last Name) if you don’t currently have an active medical license. Dr. Phil never renewed his license after a sexual assault allegation were brought forward from a past employee of his. That’s when why leaned hard into the tv personality world instead. We can all thank Oprah for that one! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Many therapists and psychologists have come out against him and his unethical ways of treating his guests. I’m glad the public is becoming more aware of this. And how he treated that poor girl on his show. Gaslighting her by trying to convince her that his producer never said that, when she knows that she did. They will say anything they can to get you on. He’s disgusting and has no respect for other peoples boundaries!

He's a narcissist who doesn't have compassion for human beings that are really hurting in one way or many & who need help in one way or many. Never go on a "talk show" for any type of help. His show is about himself, his wife's products, his sons endeavors, other companies/places & he pushes them on every show as an infomercial for more money & greed. It's called a "show" for a reason. He makes money from, exploiting people. He probably gets kick back $$ from every place he sends people to. It should never be "entertainment" He uses them for, his gain. His bestie is Oprah & her bestie is Harvey Weinstein & John of God. Look & see who these "host" etc surround themselves with & you'll know exactly what type of people they truly are. Bunch of snakes.
