It’s been a busy week in spaceflight! SpaceX recovers what’s left of booster B1062 after its landing failure, and Starliner is preparing for its return to Earth-but not before making some strange noises. Blue Origin is gearing up for the maiden flight of its New Glenn rocket, while China plans to send moon bricks to space. We also cover the latest in Artemis mission preparations and take a look at Rocket Lab’s packed factory. Join us as we break down all these updates and more in this week’s spaceflight recap!

Storage space is at a premium In spacecraft. The only way to capitalize on the limited space and fit all the supplies is what is known as "dual use stowage compartments" in the Industry. Where a particular storage location may typically be used for one dedicated thing, but when needed- you can ALSO fit additional equiptment in it. In this case.. butt plug shaped moon dust capsules. Shaped that way... well. Yeah. Limited space.. gets a little uncomfortable on the bumpy reentry

The cause of the landing failure? Part Fatigue, which is one of the mission objectives for every launch vehicle. Space-X literally runs their launch vehicles to the point of failure to determine where the weak areas are. They check for this after every flight, but apparently something wasn't caught or wasn't exhibiting apparent fatigue until it the part(s) were stressed. They will use this data to make future launch vehicles better and more reliable. That's pretty much the story.

Also will New Glenn actually launch or will it miss it's launch window? Time will tell, but the risk of this is immensely high considering BO has very few launches of any type under it's belt and zero to orbit. Anyone, literally, can go up and back down. Everything they've done has been via simulations. Whether this is a win for BO or not remains to be seen, but I don't think they are saving money doing it this way.
