Glad that enjoyed this. This little trio lasted from November of 2000 to the end of 2002. We performed on 30 seconds to fame, performed with a professional orchestra, and did other TV and stage performances. Jim Rotondo and Bruce Gaston are up here under the FOUR SQUEEZINS. One is a teacher, like myself, and the other designs web pages......

Ender- This show was a fun experience. I was lucky to have had the opportunity to perform on the Tonight Show twice along with the Mike Douglas Show, Evening Magazine, Don Polec's World and numerous other Shows and stages. It was a dream come true. Now there are hundreds of Handwhistlers out there. Each of us does it our own way. I prefer to do the slower songs......and show my expressiveness and control.

I was the straight man. These guys and I got together for the first time in November of 2000, put together our musical expertise, developed a repertoire and sent a video out to the Tonight Show. We were asked on in February, 2001. The right timing again, with the right product.....I have been so lucky! Listen to my rendition of Schubert's "Ave Maria" which is up here......

Ashton- I'm glad that you enjoyed seeing me performing with my musical friends! We were billed as Body Part Musicians. One of the guys is a professional violinist and Special Ed Teacher, and the third guy is a professional rock guitar player and a Computer Website Designer. It was less than three months after we met that we sent a video to the Show and they accepted us! You can see me perform back in 1979 on the Tonight Show which is in a two part video in my uploads. Peace.

Thank you for your comment! Answering your last comment, I don't consider myself a "God" at Handwhistling. There is a fellow in Japan that holds his hands differently and gets a different sound. He is only 25 and we can each do things that the other one can't do. He is my friend. There are many other Handwhistlers out there. I have put all of these videos up since July, because I am 55 now, and it is getting harder and harder to keep my Handwhistling on this professional level.

Laura- We sent a video of several of our songs and we heard back in two weeks that we were going to be on the Show. My mentioning that I had been on the Tonight Show back in 1979 didn't hurt in them making such a quick decision. That is video is in two parts up on my Channel. I was only 26 back then! @HandwhistlerBen Yes I saw that one actually before clicking on the Leno one. Crowds in the 1970s are easier to impress than the 2000s, and what you did on that show was impressive. When I saw that it was on Leno in 2001, I was really surprised. That's awesome! :D

We all certainly had a fantastic time! Bruce Gaston is a Professional Violinist besides being a Special Ed Teacher and Jim Rotondo is a fantastic electric guitar player, who played many big gigs with his band back in the 1970's. Jim is also a Computer Website designer, who does it from scratch. Musically, we all hit it off immediately during our first get together. What is amazing is that we got jobs and were on TV shows for two years! Check out my Favorites for the video....

@MortaniusTaijou Yes, the audiences were genuinely interested in giving people a chance to show their skills without prejudice back in the '70's. I had performed a great deal and had recently performed in two major venues where I got newspaper coverage. The Tonight Show talent coordinator saw the articles and contacted my College, then sent a letter to my Parents address. They told me to call the Tonight Show and Handwhistle for them. I was accepted on the spot. 1st class tickets were sent

@albrenza Lea- It was great deal of fun! There is a video called "Behind the scenes on the Tonight Show 2001" where a video was shot by the wife of one of the members of our trio. It shows us getting out of the Limo in the parking lot next to Jay Leno's motorcycle, in our dressing rooms, and deciding which songs we were going to perform with the talent coordinator listening. If it doesn't come up under the title, try The Three Tendons or Ben Brenner.

Leno treated us well considering that we were billed as "Body Musicians". One guy hummed and pumped the rhythm of the song in his armpit. The other guy flicked his teeth, moving his lips and jaw to change the pitch, like I do as a Face Drummist...I have a video up here of that. We were suppose to have two more minutes on with three more songs, but Keanu Reeves arrived late and our time was cut. Our group was suppose to be the Feature. Leno was genuinely, truly and sincerely impressed with your ability and talent as am I. The vibrato effect and as Jay says your perfect pitch, create a professional performance. I would like to hear you play alongside someone else who is playing the recorder. A duet. I wonder if people could determine the difference in instruments.

If you go to my Evening Magazine TV Show from 1979, one of the two parts has me playing along with violin and piano and the other playing a Bach Invention with a recorder. That eight minute video is up in two segments in my uploads. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKW3aqKtoc-ogpY kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpubp4Rmp8SdpdE I started handwhistling back in 1965, the same year as Bruce Gaston did, who was the lead manualist in our Three Tendons Trio. Jim Rotondo, the other member of the group, was younger than both of us and started later, but we all spent hours a day practicing over the years. It was used for Bird Calls, for communication- talking by different tones and rhythms for words. It probably goes back to Roman Times. But, I was the Pioneer of the Art of handwhistling- Classically as well as Folk, jazz and popular tunes. I got it out there, starting practicing in 1965. If you go to this link from my Interview with the Online Spanish Music Magazine done in 2015, you can learn of all of the hard work that went into this and my accomplishments.........www.musicoguia.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-handwhistling/.
