I discovered people like my extremely odd animation style, and I keep doing it on my channel. Rather new at it, and I keep trying to improve the process. I did not expect people to like it. I only wanted to just do it, have fun with it and let the world decide what it thinks on it's own. Even if I'll get hate bombed for whatever reason, I'll keep at it. Do it because it's fun. The rest is extra credits.

There are people being surprised twenty second animation can take two weeks.

I’ve spent much longer than 2 weeks for 5 seconds it’s crazy sometimes. I always struggle just starting the animation.

My last film "Sleep Potatoes" which is about 30 minutes long took me about 2 years to finish from the script to the final project. I have learnt a lot about the process of making such a long project such as business, work life style and other aspects. I've started work on a new film in the middle of the year and progress on it has been going swell! With "Sleep Potatoes", I've animated it mostly on 2s which is a lengthy process considering it would take me a month to finish 1 minute of animation. I have taken and used more shortcuts with the new film and I have decided use mixes of 2s, 3s, 4s and mostly 6s.

A couple weeks ago I finished a 30 second animation - from script to final animation it took me more than 220h. I estimated it would take me 150h so I was way off lol. The animation was pretty limited except for one or two shots. The characters and locations were already designed. Hopefully this can help someone!

I checked your channel hoping to see it :(... Currently on an animation, Had set the end date for End of November (for the animation, still a bit more time to put it all together). Have consistently fallen behind schedule, even though this is 2nd short.

That was super helpful Toniko. I just tried an 8-sec animation yesterday and went the choppy route as you described. The choppy animation vid that I made was wacky

For my KZbin animated series, I believe it'll take me a year to get out the entire pilot. And, already have the basic script and some animation done...even if it isn't uploaded to KZbin yet.

Ugh, Dude, you're like me. Currently I'm working on my indie series & sometimes I get sad and wonder "will it ever come out"? "Am I taking too long?" "Will people like it"? I'm glad to see I'm not the only person with challenges working on their animated series. I just saw your clips on your channel. Keep it up!

you also need to consider the style of animation. is it stop motion, since depending on if you're using stuff like lego or your own creations, it can add or reduce production time. also, pure hand drawn not on a computer takes exponentially longer than 2D computer animations. i once did a simple 40 second animation of a dog, an i only drew 58 frames for it, but it took almost 5 days

This is really important for me, I am trying my luck with youtube animation series, where each episode is around 3 minutes, give or take. It certainly is a challenge, I keep fighting to both improve how easy the style is and how much I can do all the other things. More than just animating, I also need to do sound editing/voice acting/sampling etc' Currently aim to finish the current episode... took me a month to do a minute. I'll figure out how to finish it faster, thanks for the tips!

Remember, it also depends on how it's animated as some motions may require more or less drawings. More drawings=more time.

I am working on an animation right now that is almost a minute long. But since I’ve never done anything passed 30-45 seconds, the time it has ending up taking was a bit frustrating. I’ve been pushing myself to do a harder animation style with shading and backgrounds. So I should have known this would take longer. I’ll get it done someday.

Also sometimes people don't know that 2D and 3D don't work the same way. You don't draw frames, you animate puppets. You need someone to make the puppets and make them deformable. Often two people's jobs in addition to an animator. You start to have pipeline headaches when you need to update a character to correct a rig issue but it breaks shots already approved. In one shot you need someone to deform the characer to make its flesh deform properly when sitting on the couch, and also deform the couch accordingly, which isn't in the animators' toolset. So on...

Thank for this video I like it. I get the answer to my question. Now can u tell me that, how many members work in anime field to finish a (pre - post production) in a 4-5 weeks. I find it from some research and I still missing some peaces from my research, Like how much time there take to make a storyboard?, how much time it takes to draw key frames and no.of members working for key frames. How much time and members working in inbetween drawing, etc. More and more question are missing peaces. I found the answers but I don't know it's current or wrong, so plz help me.
