the main difference between you and every single other RV person on youtube, is road mode. It's literally the most important thing you can talk about because that's how you get to the destination before you can take the slide out.
@JoshtheRVNerd21 күн бұрын
Real talk - YOUR input is one of the reasons I started doing it. You mentioned it for about a year before I finally decided to invest the time to do it If I cut out the road mode and storage segments I could literally cut my recording time in half OR BETTER. I average about 90mins per recording. I could likely get that down to about 30. But it just wouldn't feel right anymore So.. keep that input coming. I can't do EVERYTHING everyone asks but man.. I try

We like hanging out with you too, Uncle Josh! I could see us using this one for local in-season camping, but ultimately we want a rig that'll keep us warm and comfortable through Winter after our leaf watching tour through the Northeast and then go traipsing through Canada and Alaska. The other half loves the cup rinser, of course, and the vessel sink in the bathroom appeals to her. I was about to get on Cousin Garrett's case for missing the perfect opportunity to put in a donkey "hee haw" when you mentioned mule kicking the front door, but after seeing how punch drunk he got with the fart sounds he'd make asses of us all. Thanks for the video and tour, see you in the next one!

I don't know what Gray Wolf was thinking. Trailers need to be functional, not showpieces. There is no need for that water wasting shower head arrangement, especially with such a small gray water holding tank. Just give me a regular shower head that I can turn down to a trickle while taking my water saving navy shower. And leave that vessel sink for the cheese and wine crowd. I just need a regular sink with no huge cabinet above it that makes it much more difficult to bend over to wash my face, shave and brush my teeth. And give me a little more elbow room with the toilet. I'm 6' 2" and it's too tight for my normal-sized frame. The kitchen is another area where I have to ask...what were they thinking? There is virtually no counter space to prepare food. And I want my microwave to be overhead, not way down below where I can't see what's going on. And for heaven's sake, just put in a 60x80 residential size queen bed. Us taller folks need it and it makes shopping for sheets and mattress pads much easier. I'm a minimalist and a few months ago you profiled a Grand Design Transcend One 151RB. I did a lot of research on it and viewed other videos and finally decided to get one. I even got it at Bish's RV in Eldridge, Iowa. It has a good sized bathroom that has a sink that's easy to use and a toilet with plenty of elbow room. And the shower head is perfect for taking a navy shower. There is plenty of counter space and the microwave is overhead. And although I'm not a big fan of Murphy beds, this one is 60x80 and the mattress is actually comfortable enough to where I didn't need a topper. I actually prefer the two post dining table and that's what I have. It has a six gallon water heater, which is much more preferable for boondocking. The only thing I don't like is the solid steps, which are a pain, and I'll never understand why they replaced the much easier to use folding steps. The 12 volt compressor fridge is actually pretty energy efficient. I forgot to turn the power off one time and came back three or four days later to a cold fridge and the battery still had over a 2/3s charge. I do have the factory 200 watt solar package and the trailer is in sunny Arizona for the winter.

6:15 "I'm not really even sure what you can run off a 150 watt inverter?" 🐶 Pomeranian fur? DUDE‼️ 🤣 I like this, perfect length, storage, it will work well for a lot of people. What is the deal with short beds when a standard will fit? Does 4” of plywood to support it equate to more profit or less sales?
@Erin-Thor22 күн бұрын
Oh, and nice looking stapled cabinets are lipstick on a pig. All I know is after a few years use, you will notice more flex.
@JoshtheRVNerd21 күн бұрын
So short beds... first I want to open with "i am in camp true queen all day" - so there's that But to answer your question: Factory standardization Juggling multiple sku's and multiple parts of the same variety is a challenge. Adds oversight. That adds cost. Do that enough times and the cost of an rv quickly goes up This is something we learned making our Go Play series -- sounds nuts but literally just the EXISTENCE of an option increases the base cost of the rv even if the option isn't applied And it adds up way faster than you'd think So they control their costs but using one size mattress that can fit into every model even if a larger one can SOMETIMES fit
@Erin-Thor21 күн бұрын
@ - So… in other woids manufacturers are lazy? 😂 I understand what you meant, good point. I counter with many buyers will not want the time, expense or effort to increase the mattress base to accommodate a standard size mattress. I had a used RV where every time I sat on the edge of the bed, I’d feel like I was going to slide off, because of the owner swapping out the mattress without increasing the base. The end was unsupported. LOL!

Has hits and misses for sure… 1) When you first walked in and had shown the view, my first thought was this HOA brown color palette looked like something from the ‘70’s. 2) Unless I had missed it, no kitchen drawers. Bummer. 3) With the wasted dead air space behind the refrigerator that you mentioned, perhaps they could’ve had a door next to the seating that you opened for extra storage shelves. 4) I prefer the smexy look. 5) The sale price is much preferred over the MSRP price. 6) I know this sounds odd, but couldn’t they just swap the door hinges on the bathroom door so that it wouldn’t be so tight to walk in? Or would the toilet 🚽 be in the way? 7-37) Appreciate the RV education that you do. You are a good instructor Professor Nerd. 🧑🏫. * I STAND CORRECTED ON THIS AND THE NEW RV REFRIGERATORS DO NOT WORK LIKE THIS. They won’t put any storage cubby or cabinet behind the refrigerator because as you probably already know refrigerator coils on the rear will become warm and anything stored behind them will become warm.
@JoshtheRVNerd21 күн бұрын
That's not how these fridges work. You're thinking is correct as it relates to the 2-way absorption fridges that were present in rvs for a long time but these new fridges arent made or laid out that way

I absolutely love the videos that unk does, but you're absolutely right. You can almost buy a house with land or the amount they're charging for just something you tow behind your truck. The good part is is the bubble has popped and it's about to get way cheaper up in here. Everybody in the RV field is suffering heavily because they have been overpriced for years and now after the pandemic which I love bishes RV for showing us how they're seeing the market compared to what we are dealing with is the fact that nobody is buying RVs at the prices that they're trying to make us pay. As an American I believe you are to make money as a business but also as an American you're not to get ripped off by these companies that feel that they can charge you for garbage work. That is another reason why I support bishes RV. They get the better RVs on the market. And plus unk if it wasn't for him I wouldn't even be bothering with any of this. When you have somebody to break it down for you show you what you're looking at give you the positives and the negatives there is nothing better to watch on KZbin than somebody who knows what they're talking about.

Despise pleather seating. I would prefer a table and chairs, but can adjust to making the table free standing. If I open the hanging clothes door, I knock my CPAP off unless I keep it on the floor where I can step on it. I would prefer a drawer that is accessed from the foot of the bed over having to lift the mattress to get to it. Ditch the dead air space behind the sofa and put in reclining theater seats (covered in a cloth material). Needs blackout shades. I think that bathroom sink is hideous, really don't like shower curtains as they tend to drift out of the shower pan - much prefer a tracked thing. Is that a wrinkle in the wallpaper just above the shower surround? Not a fan of the bathroom access in road mode for people fluffier than you Mr.Nerd. Don't like glass entry doors.
