Tony hancock was comic genius, great delivery and timing ahead of his time!!

The mutual antagonism between Hancock and Liz is a joy. One of his best foils. RIP.

'youve seen better days too dear' 0:33 brilliant Tony at his brilliant best . Be great if we all could just say it like it is like Tony. but politeness prevents most of us Brits. pity .

For me, this episode is up there with the best of the radio shows. Brilliant dialogue and timing. Bang on the money...

It's the writers dear, giving him the words. However his delivery is spot-on.

1960... that's when ALL television comedies were genuinely funny. No profanity or a need for it.

Apparently Sid James was happily married. Adored his wife + kids. He made certain that his family were happy + wanted for nothing. He adored all kids. The neighbourhood children would knock on his door at home to ask his wife if "Mr James" was coming out to play today! He also loved women (+gambling!) Women adored Sid. He was great fun + even as an older man he always had queues of ladies waiting for him back stage. During lunch breaks he had a "Do Not Disturb" sign + noone ever did. Sid + Hancock were genius together. 2 very different personalities. 🙂☹️

can anyone help me? im trying to locate an episode where tony comes out to a live audience i think and is sitting down and says " women, cant live with 'em...."
@midguardz12 жыл бұрын
probably due to drawing attention to women's foibles which cant even be discussed these days as they concentrate on all the problems men have. Leopard skin ladies got replaced WITH THE TERM COUGARS which is supposedly more pc.
