I can definitely see Downhill Jam on DS a fun time due to its portability, and the wireless multiplayer could offer some fun. But on the GBA? It's quite the technical achievement, despite releasing in 2006 where the GBA was starting to fade out in favor of the DS.

Kill.Swich and Driver 3; Asterix and Obelisk XXL + ATV Dessert Quad or whatever it was called are all technical achievements for the Nintendo GBA ! Sadly, the Simpsons Hit and Run & the GTA 3 we're not ported over to the GBA (not even the DS for that matter). What we got in the end was a top-down, semi playable GTA 3 rip-off (I still enjoyed playing it but I did not find it appealing to look at or to control). If I wanted to play a top-down GTA or even Payback I would return to the ever trusty Microsoft Windows PC device.

I remember I bought the DS version of Downhill Jam for less than $1 at GameStop and I couldn't believe how much fun it was. GREAT spin off of the Tony Hawk games.

I was part of the forums for this game and had a few of the time trial and high score records. This game was a life changer for me. Have some facebook friends from the forums still. We got so good you'd be doing a manual while boosting through the whole map to get the best time. I remember one guy called Goopy did one combo for an entire level and it shook the forums up. You could download people's replays and watch them get their high scores and fast times. Literally could learn from the best. 2007-2009ish. Great times- cherished memories I truly feel nostalgic for. Still have my copy somewhere.

Cool to hear, I had a similar experience with american sk8land for the DS! I had a #8 top score in the Vans skate park level for a while and I remember being super proud of it!

The DS version of this game is absolutely fun to play and has some what of a replay ability with going through different stages and it’s settings... from normal street skateboard to snowboarding and mountain board just absolutely magnificent. Awesome video man!!!

I played downhill jam gba a lot as a kid and only this year have a l played the DS copy. Don’t think I could go back to downhill jam gba but I really loved the DS game. I’ve been a skater for 10 years and when I started skating the only skate games I had were tony hawk 3 gba and downhill jam gba and I actually used them for trick names. Good memories. Loving this series

Hey man/dude, if you enjoyed this video game IP then you should have a go at Jackass: the Game for the Nintendo DS...there was no GBA version...at least not to my knowledge (although a Sony PSP and PS2 version do exist they are not the same). The Nintendo DS version is more non-linear and free-roaming unlike the Sony PS2/PSP versions...which is truly odd in my opinion ! 🤔😱😬💪

im honestly impressed with the gba version on a technical standpoint i played two other games that tried to do this sorta 3d Engine on the GBA those being V-Rally 3 and Need for speed carbon V-rally 3 got it right but OH DEAR GOD NFS Carbon on GBA it hurts my eyes to look at it they tried to cram way to much into what little the system can do and so NFS Carbon chugs at a painful 5- 10 fps and they even tried to put license bit crunched music into the back ground i would stay the hell away from that version of NFS carbon as for Down hill jam i will have to see about grabbing a Rom of that for my DS Emulator

There are more 3d games on GBA. By far the most impressive one is Asterix & Obelix XXL. It was made by two people, and it looks like an early ps1 game running on gba!

There was even Downhill Jam for J2ME cellphones back in the day. But you probably can't get it now in "legal way" because as many of these games this has been sold on WAP websites or in those "send this code by SMS on this number" at the back side of magazines. But since all THPS franchise is abadonware and Activision can't sell it probably wouldn't hurt anyone if you just download it somewhere. Even if you would find used cellphone on ebay that has it preinstalled to get it in "legal way" the developers wouldn't get any money neither, so fuck it, download it and review it. :D
