It really feels like Sk8land on the GBA was a mere afterthought as I would assume they wanted to cash in on the success of the previous GBA titles, especially since more people likely had the GBA than the DS in 2005. But I am impressed by what kind of visuals the DS was able to produce, good stuff.

As someone who does skate, listening to someone who doesn't actually skate talk about what they like/dislike about a skateboarding game is interesting. I want skating games to be as close to real street skating as possible. I don't want to go to space or skate in a town that has quarter pipes lining all the walls and buildings. I get how a game without variety and stuff could be boring to someone who doesn't skate. As a kid, I used to dream about having a skateboarding game that was just a bunch of recreations of cities and you could just skate around. We basically have that now and it's great.

I'm a big fan of Thaw over a majority of the games, I agree with all the criticisms of the game, but I think an unappreciated aspect of American Wasteland is the Artstyle on the cover, and even in sk8land. The only thing that has ever replicated it is the art for life is strange.

Weird question but, will you review Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure, since it is based off of Pro Skater 4's engine and is basically Pro skater for kids and with disney characters. It's a pretty solid game in my opinion, also it has one of the best soundtracks surprisingly. If you don't get to reviewing it, that's understandable because even with the Tony Hawk engine, it's still a stretch.

Did you notice the little red and white signs marking out where the gaps were in the shitty ADV american s8land game's tony gap mission?
@SquareEyedJak5 жыл бұрын
No I didn't until someone mentioned it here earlier. It's subtle but it's there, though I'd still say WAY too easy to completely miss with zero direction. Maybe if the game had said "look for a clue at the Golden Gate bridge" you might notice the first logo and then know but otherwise, it's still incredibly unrealistic to think dumb kids can figure that out.
@eastfieldfilms85935 жыл бұрын

I thought American Wasteland was the true Underground 2. Underground 2 felt like what the *name* "American Wasteland" should've been. Like the AW name sounds more like a Tony Hawk version of Jackass than Underground does. And the story of AW truly felt like an "Under dog rising outta the underground" type story.
