Took my son to one of Tony's shows many years ago, after the show ended the line for autographs was hundreds of people long but Tony stayed until the end, we were it and he even signed my police officer I.D. after signing my son's t-shirt. Class Act.

Joe Buck really impressed me with this interview. The depths he went into with Tony's history and his family. Joe is used to interviewing major sports icons, but to give that level of effort to a Skateboarder? That's impressive.

That "just a Skateboarder" is a household name all around the World and is an Icon.

@@just_goldsAs a skater of 40 years, I can say that even the top level pros, and the sport in general, are nowhere nearly as known as other sports. Tony Hawks did an interview with Marc Maron, and Maron knew almost nothing of Tonys history pre 2000.

I was skating at the same time the first Bones brigade video came out. There was some skinny little kid on there doing some crazy tricks at Del Mar. Its good to see tony become a household name. At that time skating was still taboo by the mainstream.

You weren't a mistake Tony. Your parents kept trying until they got perfection 👍😎😆. That's what I often tell my sister who's 11 years my elder.

It’s interesting that they didn’t cover his Christian testimony which is a big part of his journey.

I don't think I've ever heard Tony Hawk is Christian.

Yeah, I don't think Tony Hawk is a particularly religious person. Not sure where you're finding info on that, because I definitely looked extensively. Honestly, he doesn't even seem to be political.

Interesting they never touched on the video game...?
😂 Did you watch All This Mayhem? That shit was a bunch of lies. Tas didn't qualify for best trick 99 x games, but with some editing it seems he was left out. Tas tried the 900 in qualifiers and failed is why he wasn't in the event. Why do you think NO ONE in skateboarding was in that interview on camera agreeing with Tas? Because its his story and nobody believes it or agrees. This whole film really spins things in a false light and also paints Tas out to be some model person but he seemed like a bully to me and his "side" of the story is more based on jealousy and emotion than facts. How can you "steal" the idea to do a 900? It's just rotating 180 degrees further than had ever previously been landed. It was just a logical progression of an existing trick. The dude is just crazy.
