Oh wow! I never got to see this fight. Sooooo much appreciated! Lopez was a real old-school type of fighter. One of my favourites. Thobela could have been something special, but he was kinda lazy and that hurt his career.

Beating Lopez in Sacramento, California would take a super human effort. Dingaan Thobela was my stable mate and it was disappointing he never got the decision on this occasion though he won the rematch several months later. A match I thought was much closer than the first.
