I finally have seen Tony live, and now that I have, this performance is so fun to watch. During his performance in Orlando, his style is exactly like this and I love the energy he brings on stage. He is fabulous in person and irradiates that power in what he does. So this performance just reminds me of how far he's come even if he didn't win. He's beyond impressive.

I don't like Christina - she seems like a jerk to me - but I think her assessment of the song is fair. The word "bitch" is frequently used as a derogatory term towards women, and it's OK for her to speak out against that. And other than that comment, she was complimentary of Tony after this performance. I don't think she was trying to be mean to Tony here; I think she was just trying to express her dislike of the song's lyrics.
@Sakaki9810 жыл бұрын
I guess the problem people have with what she said is, tony lucca himself isn't responsible for the song's lyrics or meaning, so there's no reason for her to even mention it in her evaluation or judgement of tony lucca's guitar playing or singing. Plus, she said right after that it was all good fun. If she already knew that, why would she even mention the song being derogatory towards women?
@heidimsw9 жыл бұрын

@@patriciaalejandra4764 did you hear also The Right Man on her Back To Basics album? Ain't No Other Man? Literally she is celebrating men who respects women in general. But she faced a lot of backlash during her whole career because she was a woman who speaks her mind and she will always be. The industry is very misogynistic towards women in pop music and that's why she always clapback with songs like I Hate Boys or Can't Hold Us Down. Also, Adam Levine is a jerk and Xtina was sick of him during that time.

I still don't understand this "feud"... Christina didn't remember his face from when they were CHILDREN... She critiqued his performances because she's a JUDGE... And the song is SEXIST... I think Tony's just oversensitive and the type of person to throw a fit if a critic doesn't adore him.
@LitrallyAJ10 жыл бұрын
Plus a woman stating her beliefs should not make her a bitch or a rude person. That's like someone singing a racist song about African Americans and Cee Lo getting upset.
@eligilchrist039 жыл бұрын
Woah woah woah, who said, and I'd like you to provide me proof, who said this song was about African Americans females? Please show me. Christian can't talk! Do we all remember her song "dirty" and the lovely littler outfit she wore during that, or the lyrics for that song! He sang a song from a rapper, but he did it in a completely different way, and the message was completely different, as well. I watched the voice all the time, and I watched this season, and Christian always had something bad to say and she always found a way to throw her big success in his face. So yeah she maybe standing up for her "beliefs" but home girl did way worse in her time, so yeah she was 100% being a jerk!
@LitrallyAJ9 жыл бұрын
eligilchrist03 Her song Dirrty was not about objectifying, it was about giving women and men the right to be sexual without judgment. Christina is about equal rights, and for each gender to be able to do what they want with their bodies.
@andythomason55769 жыл бұрын
SkyrimSimmer If you listen carefully, the song is likely not intended at all to be sexist. I take it as he has 99 problems but his woman is not one. Meaning, they have a good relationship, get along as a couple should and that he is so proud of his women, he proclaims to the world that he has 99 problems but his woman is not one. By proclaiming she is not a bitch, the term is meant to be derogatory towards a fictional women that he does not have. Further he shows sympathy for those men who may have a women that gives them many problems but again his woman does not. in short its a great song with an awesome beat and lyrics that can mean many things. So spin it as you wish ill look at it being good rather then bad.
@heidimsw9 жыл бұрын
+eligilchrist03 Christina was looking for a way - any way - to criticize Tony. She probably even purposefully called his son "daughter". She took any opportunity to do so during Season 2. For her, it was *personal*. The story goes that they knew each other as adolescents when they were both in The Mickey Mouse Club. Christina supposedly had a huge crush on Tony back then. He didn't feel the same way. Some versions of the story say that in those teenage days, Tony even had his eye on Xtina's arch nemesis Britney! So, Xtina's picky negative comments and cold shoulder behavior towards Tony on The Voice Season 2 is thought to be her "revenge" for his unrequited affection when they were young.
@dillowman85 жыл бұрын
Jealousy is an ugly thing. This is what happens when you get romantically rejected years ago and still hold that grudge. Xtina even said it herself, that Britney Spears had a thing for Tony in the Mickey Mouse Club. I think she did too and got rejected. She had it in for Tony from the moment she realized who he was. This was brilliant and she damn well knew it!!!
