Tony easily the most influential under rated player of the 80s shred era …

The younger guitarists will never know that feeling that us, shall we say “experienced” players, had when putting that Tony MacAlpine cassette into the player for the first time in 1986 and just being blown away

I saw Tony in 03 when he was touring w Vai on the G3 tour. I had no idea who he was but he kept challenging Vai to solo battles during songs that didn't have solo battles and they were fucking epic. At first, I thought, "there's no way this little guy can hang w Vai" and he immediately shut me up. He was insane then and is still insane, as we all see. God bless him. It's heartbreaking to hear about his wife. Stay strong, Tony. You have generations of fans Thank you, Herman, for introducing him to the new generation of shredders

It is a shame that Ibanez doesn't offer a signature Tony MacAlpine guitar. So much great guitar music made by this man. And his guitar spec choices would be something unique for the market. 8 String with a floating bridge etc.

Tony is not only a monster guitar shredder, but also a virtuoso keyboard player. Check out some videos from the "Live At the Astoria" dvd of Steve Vai, Tony used to be in his live-band back in the 90´s and they were doing some insane guitar/keyboard jams together.

He also included (or includes) a piano piece in his shred albums. I enjoyed how fluently and carefully he interpreted Chopin.

I just love when 2 of my favorite shredders jam, interview each other and have fun.😊 It's really cool to watch this guys play and enjoy. It inspire me to play the guitar more, Tony in his 60's can still shred with the best. Thanks Herman for bringing the all the best guitar players in your channel for interviews and jam.🤘 I've seen all the great guitarists here: Tony MacAlpine, Bumblefoot, Paul Gilbert, Andy Timmons, Andy James, George Lynch, MAB, Tosin, Tim Henson, JRich, Gus G, Skolnick, Kiko Loureiro, Stevie T, Jared D, Tyler, The Dooo, Lucas Mann, etc. I hope you can also invite the one and the only shred king, the elusive unleash the fooking Fury, the maestro: Yngwie J. Malmsteen.😊 Please add him to your collection.😅 Cheers!

@@nunyabizz6895 Hahaha, nice! arpeggios from Tampa hell!🤣 but seriously no matter what people say, I just love the man. He's actually kind and cool in person, plus he's the only shredder with the "vintage feel" which none of his peers or other technical monsters today can replicate. It's like a $500,000 vintage Fender or Gibson..rare and unique. Cheers mate!🤘
