@tmol2226 ай бұрын
@747heavyboeing3 Think there's a very small group of ppl who vote in artists. They don't like some groups, so those will probably, never, be in the hall. Not saying tony, telma and Joyce fall under that category, though. Then there's the argument of, they're not rock and roll, and the hall shouldn't be called what it's called because there's more than rock and roll artists in it. Whatever.

About 15 years ago my act and I were performing at the State fair. Tony Orlando was on later. I asked the stage manager some questions about Tony and he said why don’t you just meet him. I said, I don’t want to bother him. He took me into his area and I have never been so graciously welcomed by a genuine human being in all of my life-just a very sweet, sweet man. I stuck around to watch his performance later and I will say this, he obviously is a great singer but his stage presence and innate entertainment ability is beyond what I’ve ever seen. He is warm on and off stage. A true blessing.

🎤 My mom was the biggest Tony Orlando fan in the world back in the day. When he performed at the New Jersey casinos in the late 70's she had the opportunity to meet him. Tony Orlando could not have treated her any better. He hugged her, kissed her, posed for photos, he even gave her his "sweated up"🧣silk scarf 🧣 as a souvenir. To me, it will never matter what that man sounds like. Tony Orlando will always hold a special place in my thoughts and prayers because of the happiness he gave to my mother. 👨🎤

I always wanted to be a professional singer and I'll never forget the encouragement I received from them. They said, "Maybe, we'll see you here in Vegas performing one day!" Ten years later I joined the Atlanta Rhythm Section as their lead singer, and now sing on the strip in Las Vegas. Dreams to come true.

Oh, this is so nice - I used to listen my mother singing Tie a Yellow Ribbon here in Brazil, a huge sucess over here at the 70's, and three decades after, now whith internet and stuff, I knew Candida, and yesterday I was in California and I listened Knock Three Times, wich I liked at first time, didn't know who were singing. Today, again in Brazil, I search for the song and tadah... It's that fella, Tony Orlando! Let's check this video, never saw his face, and guys, he is super cool! What a surprise, those songs together! People who sings and delivers hope, love, compassion and happiness to the world, be sure, they are blessed and the heaven will be their final destination! Best wishes to you all in here!

I loved Tony Orlando and Dawn then and still today. Remembering Tony and Freddy Prinze…a Hung-a-Rican and a Greek-a-Rican, best of friends…best of times. I’d give anything to go back.
