My buddy owns the 1993 Santa Cruz Tony Rice played on Tone Poems. Best guitar I’ve ever played. Prewar Martins included. Feel privileged to have been able to run a pick across the strings.

Great video! The Smith capo is also outstanding if you can find one, as they are no longer made. The Barry Collins capo is super as well. Barry is a great guy to boot!!!!

I’ve tried and owned Elliott’s, vintage McKinney and showcase Have you tried the Katz eyes capos? I was pleasantly surprised with them.

We used to have a spring type bale capo by Hamilton, worked real well for banjo or guitar .

I’m using Paige that, like some Shubbs, has a little rubber piece on each side. Beats scratching up the sides of the neck.

I just can't see almost 200.00 for a capo. I have a 2013 D-28 Shade Top and the 40 dollar Paige capo works like a champ. However, I am interested in the Shubb F1 looks like it's a bit heavier made and more durable than the Elliott. I would think for 170 + dollars the thumb screw wouldn't wallow around like that, it's bad craftsmanship. Thanks for your review I'm subscribed and getting all notifications. Keep Picking

Thanks for watching. An Elliott capo isn't for everyone. But, a lot of people buy them and their 2023 production has all been booked up and spoken for since before Jan 1.

Dam you have more cradle capos than I have ever seen . Just ordered a shub f1 . Hoping get better tuning than the keiser capo I have . Its just always a bit out of tune

The McKinney has been made under license by several companies. Tony Rice used an original Mckinney he acquired in the late 70's or early 80's.

Paige capos are garbage. The nut on mine stripped in a little less than a year’s use. I have a number of shubb capos, one is over 30 years old and still works as it did when it was new.
