I loved Maid Marian and Her Merry Men, but I also really enjoyed his reading of Terry Pratchett's books on tape and CD.

I absolutely LOVE all of Sir Tony's work, he has taught me more about history than anybody else and given me so many hours of wonderful entertainment that I am so grateful for. Thank you so much for doing this interview with him I really enjoyed it. How lucky you are to have met him. I would absolutely love (again) to meet Tony because he seems just so genuinely likeable and such an interesting person who has had so many interesting experiences throughout his life. Great interview and thanks again.

Certainly Black Adder series..I know someone like Baldrick! But also Time Team was fascinating!..Not being a Pom, Time Team exposed many of the myths i was taught at school about the Monarchy! But what you did to Robin Hood and Marion was hilarious, and more believable than the real legend!..Up y' go Sir Tony!

As an American, unfortunately, I haven't seen everything Tony has done. But, how can you pick a favorite? He's so talented, so versatile, so interesting in whatever he's doing. I will watch anything I can find with his name attached.

Thank you for the interview with Tony. There are too many interviews that only last a few minutes and it is a pleasure to see an in depth interview with someone who has not problem discussing his life with "warts and all" as they say. Congrats and Cheers!

Great interview! I watched Blackadder and that's how I got to 'know' Tony Robinson - but since a few weeks, I 'discovered' Time Team and other documentaries (I'm Belgian, so these programs didn't catch my radar until now) by sir Tony and it is a joy to be able to watch these (especially during these 'quarantine' times). He seems like a very sensible and charming chap!

I'm sure Maid Marion paved the way for Horrible Histories. Both have wonderful parody songs mixing the time periods up so well.

Amazing and wonderful interview with this great man. Having grown up in the UK in early 80's, I deeply loved and still do, Maid Marion and Her Merry Men, as well as BlackAdder, and of course later on with Time team of course and noone can replace him on Time team as it just doesn't feel the same. I am somewhat sad that, when reading the comments one of my favourite shows that Tony was in, hasn't been mentioned: Channel 4's or ITV's "Who Dares Wins" comedy series of scetches with the famous Naked Tony bit which was according to Tony in another part of video, he was doing this on stage and he accidentally got locked out of the theatre, naked. And oh yes, the scetch where he is world famous news-photographer is great too. I deeply love all his work, including the depths to explain "The Worst Jobs In History"-series. He has dedicated so much to give us GREAT entertainment and knowledge. Thank You!

17:20 The first episode of Maid Marian & Her Merry Men was the 16th of November 1989, so depending on the specific date you filmed, it’s 34 years old, not 40.

Excellent interview. There's no denying Tony's a gifted performer/presenter.. and he certainly has the comedic timing gift down to perfection. Blackadder and Time Team are amongst some of the very finest of British TV.. (of which Tony was a part). Having the surname Darling makes Blackadder goes fourth very special to me in particular, for obvious reasons 😂. There is a side to "Sir" Tony however that I find hard to take, he's a staunch anti monarchist, yet accepted a Knighthood from her majesty the Queen.. (somewhat hypocritical)? Watching Time team he has on many episodes displayed a very caustic, sarcastic side, which he "gets away with" being "Sir Tony" out ranking those around him. He often spoke to the professional archaeologists who were after all the experts and other contributers to the show with an incipid derisory tone, softened with a nudge and a wink, rather like a spoilt bratt welding his hierarchical weight over others. He seems through his rhetoric to see them as lesser minions and I cringed at these moments, which were laughed off on the show, but I imagine the archaeologists had a fruity retort in their heads as Tony strolled off after. They say you should never meet your heros and I think Tony sadly would fall into this category.. His liberally political bias displayed towards the end of this interview (which so many current and former BBC/ Channel 4 employees carry), shone through with his comments relating to BREXIT. Tony says how horrid the comments aimed at remainers were from leavers for simply wanting to stay in the E. U during BEXIT .. totally ignoring the fact that the insult hurling was well and truly swinging vigorously in both directions! So I watched this very good interview hoping Tony may not be the way I imagined him to be, but he sadly turned out to be just that. What a shame, it tarnishes the body of work he has done.. to a small degree, I will still laugh at Baldrick, I shall still enjoy time team. Thanks for uploading. 👍
