I actually find it too cringe. I loved the 1st series of SKins (2 was quite good then it turns to crap), but it did have it's "tries too hard to make Tony look sooooo cooooool" moments and forgets to give him depth or character. To the point it actually looks psychotically cruel and misogynistic years later. The series worked by the brilliant writing of all the other characters and their relationships and hardships.

Genuinely loving attention is definitely not narcissism.
@user-bd6hn4 жыл бұрын
Franklin Marichal it definitely is more than 85% of narcissists love being the center of attention because they love feeling admired and powerful also always being in control of everything , which in this case Tony always wanted to be in control of all of his friends like they were property , he even said in an episode he “owned effy” lol.
@franklinmarichal4 жыл бұрын
@@user-bd6hn narcissists don't feel any of those ways. You can't feel any of those things through the narcissistic persona. Self love and wanting to be admired and loved by others go hand in hand. No good in narcissism I agree with you there but victims of a narcissist oftentimes away in the opposite direction of supposing that having these and wants and needs (which are necessary for overall personal development and therefore happiness) are bad. Not the case. A narcissist does not possess these sorts of pure wants and needs. They only have ideas of wanting these things but it's not true to them. It's coming out of the persona.
@franklinmarichal4 жыл бұрын
@@user-bd6hn ever heard of belonging in a relationship versus wanting to have somebody as your piece of material property? Two diametrically opposed concepts. One is good as can be, the other is evil as can be, but if we use the words "I own you" then we can get lost in the rhetoric instead of looking to the sentiment underlying those words. Nobody is all bad either. They always have some goodness. It's just that with a narcissist the bad is so bad that you can't count on them for anything. Knowing all of these things about a narcissist can give you power in the relationship just you can't be coming from a bad place cus they will use that against you too.

the BEST MOST CREATIVE character introductions. we see a really raw manipulative side to tony straight away and see his relationship with his friends. 1.we see tony is friends with Sid 2.him and Chris both have game 3.Sid does not 4.tony is popular 5.Jal is studious in terms of music 6.Maxxie dances and is just a nice guy 7.Anwar is Muslim and most likely the only one with a stable home life 8.Sid is everything tony is not opposites of sorts. tony is sort of in charge and pisses his dad off while Sid's dad is in charge of Sid. another very clever thing is they don't introduce Michelle as Tony's girlfriend, and even goes as far to hint that he was making her have sex with his friend, this just plants the toxicity of the relationship in viewers minds before they even know it. also the fact that it is all of them on the phone to tony, and he is switching between just shows his place in the centre of the friend group. FUCKING GENIUS.

@mattis13894 жыл бұрын
@@critNnn he acted like sociopath in the beginning. Most of season one. But he clearly changed big time. He showed allot of love and care for his ex girlfriend and best friend. You could question h w realistic that big charactere development is. But since the manipulativ and abusiv behavior was a way of just getting attention and admiration for him which went downhill for him in the end. And the fact that he had a life changing accident. You could justify it and its somehow realistic. Anyway i realy like characteres in shows that are the devil in tge beginning and you hate but tgen discover their softer side and the love for others underneath that facade they actually have. So fpr that reason tony is my third favorite charactere. 2. Is sid cause i always felt like he had the heart at the right place and hes just very relatable for me 1. Is cassie cause shes amazing so pure, so unique in a way. Vulnerable. Very honest and outspoken. And brave in a cause she seems always able to speak her mind and be authentic even tho she has so big self-worth issues. Also i like how she just does things and takes kinda impulsiv but emtion based actions. She seems very attuneded to her emotions and isnt afraid to act on them. For example just run away to new york. Of course this has it negative side maybe too it seems but i still like it personally. Also i do think in the end it is actually in her best interest. Since she seems to have found quite some growth and healing in her later life.

@self345 In cities in the UK (not central London) such as Bristol where this was filmed there are a lot of building unoccupied. Often illegal raves happen in these. If there is a house party generally the parents are out for the weekend. Usually a kid who's middle class and go abroad to Paris or Spain for the weekend or whatever - they're usually the first ones to have a house party. Also during the 90s and 00s drum and bass, jungle and rave culture was in full swing. Bristol is the home of drum and bass. Teens taking drugs are becoming a bit less common these days. Still plenty of raves about if you know where to look but it definitely isn't super mainstream like it was.
