Hi Tony awesome video.Glad to find this pot your making.It looks a lot like one dug a few years ago.i was digging in an old bottle dump from the 1940s . strange to find this little pot in it .Had a dull but smooth finish.And wondered about the age of it

I use to run around with a piece of fruit on my thumb. I use to make tiny baskets out of clay, obviously was a child at this time. 😂 I use to colour and draw, none of which was extraordinary. I always felt that I should have made more. I did not pay enough attention. I knew I wanted to be an Artist. But what sort of Artist I had no idea. It is only now that I feel ready to give it a go. Not sure if God is going to allow this journey. But I Pray He Grants me Grace. ❤ God bless you

Osiyo how do you determine if a clay it great for pottery? I do cherokee styled cherokee and i dig two types of clay. One is grey one is reddish orange. Both are i use for pottery. Im just trying to see witch is better to use. Wado
@tonysoaresnativeclays14346 жыл бұрын
rockettony101 Osiyo Well there is not a lot to pick from. Most of the clay here is pretty dirty with either mica, salt, gypsum or it cracks in the firing. I usually test the Clays as I find them by making a pinch pot, test fire it . Then add or take out sand. Some clays I can fire directly in the wood and some I have to Cove with broken pottery so they cool down slowly or they will crack. Thanks for watching. I’ll be putting up more videos soon so subscribe. Osiyo, one of my buddies is Cherokee and Wes Studi fired pottery in my backyard for my friend’s movie Road To Poloma.

No I have never tried it, I don’t think my fire is hot enough
