I almost forgot Stewart finished 2nd in 2001. Outside of the Sears Point/Bristol wins and his spring Bristol brouhaha with Gordon, I don't remember much from Stewart that year. Amazing to think he managed to chase down Rudd/Jarrett/Marlin for #2.
@tholc219 жыл бұрын
Chris Kreager He had 15 top 5's and 22 top 10's so I'd say he had a pretty good year that year!
@jackjohnson96039 жыл бұрын
What about him flipping to start the season, I find it hard to forget that
@evanwilliams64069 жыл бұрын
+Chris Kreager Tony Stewart had a crazy year that year, he kind of capitalized on Dale Jarrett and Ricky Rudd's free fall in the points after Jarrett injured his ribs and the Yates team as a whole struggled in the second half of the year. Tony also had the yellow line controversy at Daytona, where he was the first to get caught for that violation, at least the first major driver anyhow. But by the time Tony got to Jeff to challenge for the title, it was too late. He got the title the next year, but it was a very controversial year. Tony made up for it in 2005 which was a great year for him, and of course 2011 was the tiebreaker title.
