I feel him...I think Fat Joe wanted to be a mainstream star too bad after the success of that Lean Back record. He should've kept the same formula and team. That's what Pun was trying to do.

100% lol & im NOT talking about the OTHER record! "ALL that I need" was the record it was because of TONY! I can't imagine a donell jones or R.Kelly hitting that record! Its NOT that u have to be the best vocalist like Mary J blidge for example a thousand females can sing better then Mary but its the Soul & the swag that ONLY she can deliver! Tony is like a Male Mary J. Blidge if you ask me & I knows my music! One of my "go to" records when im tryna get on my FLY shit wit my mujeres!

this is the problem and I will tell any new artist this. Make your own beats. That's the key of course you gonna eventually get other producers but you will never NEED them. imagine if tony made all his own rnb tracks. he would've def been big or at least a huge writer. Can't depend on niggas man. Straight up.
@anutoldlegend89
@anutoldlegend89 8 жыл бұрын
LexStarBeats People don't understand how much of a rapper's style comes from his beat selection. Everyone praises the MC but forget the huge production that goes behind their sound.
@lexstarbeats6003
@lexstarbeats6003 8 жыл бұрын
I don't think my advice is "horrible" at all. A matter a fact it's golden advice. Artists don't need a defined role. Like Travis Scott there are plenty of artists who make tracks and are heavily involved with the production. Tony said his main problem was that labels didn't know how to deal with an RnB singer who can also speak spanish. They stereotyped him and the production he was gettin wasn;t his edgy rnb hiphop style. If he made his own tracks he couldve defined his own style without havin to rely on label producers especially from the jump.
@lexstarbeats6003
@lexstarbeats6003 8 жыл бұрын
Lol. Rnb singers producing is not an insult. Its a reality. There are singers who can play keys better then many internet producers i know. There are dope producers who sing and dope producers who don't. Why is that so insulting for you? Learning chord progressions is not that hard. A little dicipline and anyone can do it and do it well.

I don’t get it. If the English shit didn’t pop after 10years why would you not take the multiple opportunities in Spanish that were offered? Once you caught a buzz or had one big song in Spanish you could always cross back over. There’s a lot of artist that have hits in 2 languages. If I’m trying to pop why not try different things and see what works. Once you get hot you have more leverage to pursue your passion projects.
