In this clip, Tony Yayo reacted to the news that Haiti is currently being ran by the gangs and one gang leader in particular named Barbecue. He talked about being Haitian but never visiting his parent’s native country. Tony Yayo also called Pras a hater for not supporting Wyclef’s Haitian presidential campaign. Later, Yayo explained why he finds it difficult and counterproductive to come up with top 5s in hip hop. According to Yayo, there are only Tops 10s and Top 20s because of the diversity in sound, region, eras, etc.

Wu-Tang is a Worldwide movement. It hit a little different. It was a SWARM from 1994 to about 1999 with several legendary individual solo artists (Mef, Ghost, Rae, Rza) that still hold heavy positions in hip-hop. G-Unit exploded in the early 2000 on 50 Cents wave. It lasted about 3 years. You can’t compare Banks or Yayo to Chef Raekwon or Ghostface. It’s just not the same. Shaolin is on the map

It’s apples and oranges, though. There’s no denying G Unit is one of the if not the most successful rap group/supergroup ever. However the Wu’s focus was elsewhere, and they came up in an era where being commercially successful was still seen as an iffy thing. And for one thing, there’s an argument that without the Wu there’s no G Unit. Two quick examples: they codified having an active group where all the members could have solo careers. Before that you were one or the other. Also, some members like GZA got clowned a bit at first for doing R&B joints before joining. Then Meth made All I need with Mary J Blige, made it cool and people started seeing R&B collabs in a completely different light. Without that you have no Candy Shop, I Want to Get to Know You, and so on.

I grew up at a time where I saw the impact and was myself impacted by the whole Wu Tang movement and it lasted a long long time and honestly there was never a thought that any group could even compare to Wu Tang . I also had the opportunity to be here for the whole g unit era and to be fair that shit was incredible and they blow up so damn quick! The songs were all hits and all the members had they own style and attributes.. so as they are reaching their peak, I absolutely heard and even thought to myself that if anyone or any group could compare to Wu Tang it would be g unit at its peak. Both had New York on fire and made the whole east coast proud!!! That being said, after all the drama ( but groups had their fair share of beef within the group) within both camps and being able to reflect on both eras/ movements it's a close one to call and I personally cannot say one is or was bigger than the other and I'm just glad I got to see both from the ground floor to the roof top. There can be so many reasons one could say either group was bigger than the other and it would be respectable. Both had major influence and changed the game in their time. As a "hip hop head " I wanna say Wu Tang had more influence and made a more of an impact but it would be foolish and just wrong to say g unit didnt make the same impact.
