In that last hand, could your opponents have made 4♠? If you had doubled, would your partner not have bid 5❤anyway?

I think 4♠loses a 1C,2D & 1S to go down 1. I don't think partner takes out your double because of his AC and his void spades (which suggests that you have some)

Your partner should be less inclined to bid five hearts if you double then if you pass. Pass by you is basically saying you’re not sure what to do whereas your partner should only take out your double if he thinks it is the wrong call.
