No! With respect, he is not underrated. Such a tired word. He’s been in the business over 50 years, huge hits, name checked by so many people, produced the greats, in a band with Harrison, Orbison, Petty AND Dylan, Rock HOF, music is used in films, still touring and filling stadiums. He’s a superstar in every sense and is not underrated

@@jimmatherly With respect Jim, Jeff Lynne deserves to be generally rated alongside the usual suspects when "greats" are listed, Elvis, Jerry-Lee, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly and The Beatles, but rarely is mentioned in the same sentence, a shame, as you so rightly pointed out, he has achieved so much as a writer, producer and stadium filling performer, and can belt out a song with the best of them.

@@karolk7711 Dude, there are billions of songs written and recorded all the time. So many that in your lifetime you will probably get to know maybe 0,1% of them (just my guess). When a song reaches top 20 in over 15 weekly charts, holds its place in yearly charts in many countries, has millions of views on the internet both in live and studio versions and is still played on radio 40 years after its release then it definitely is one of the most popular songs on the planet. And I'm not even that big of an ELO fan, I'm just being objective.
