These crazy times won’t last, as I’m sure you know. The garden is always a place of comfort for me. Losing a pet is as hard as losing a loved one. I’m sorry about your mom. Mine had a stroke too. She should have gone into a home, but didn’t have the money to. Here in the states you have to pay several thousand dollars a month. She passed away this last year. Anyway, I’m not trying to add to your burden, a baby is the biggest, best thing to lift your spirits. I have two and they are my world. We all need a grand baby or two to keep our spirits up. Congratulations!

*HUGS* I'm sorry to hear about Douglas, and I hope your mum is recovering well ❤️ Congratulations to your daughter and to you and your wife on impending grandparent-hood! I know that I don't know you in person or vice versa, but I was listening to you pick chillies and tell give your life update while I was grating zucchini in the kitchen (store bought, as my zucchini plants aren't yet in the garden 😅), and it honestly felt like I was having a cup of tea with a friend. ❤ May the grand baby be the first of many blessings and much joy heading your way ❤️

You have had a month of sadness and joy...and you always face everything that life presents with such humility and grace ..I am also so sorry to hear of your Mum's illness. I hope she is doing better now....And in addition, I am so relieved that your CT came back clear, and that you are welcoming your first grandbaby! That is wonderful news...And with that said, I am so sorry for the loss of Douglas. That was so sudden and unexpected, and at his age that sort of hematoma/seroma trauma injury would likely not healed. You and Melanie did the kindest and most compassionate thing to put him down rather than have him go through all that suffering/pain....Take care of yourselves, and enjoy your chili harvest. Thank you for the update....xx

So sorry to hear about Douglas 💜 my 8 year old jack chi died last year.. we think she had a massive heart attack while out on a walk.. the time I had got her home she had died in my arms... it was devastating and I still miss her terribly ..and I have had many rescue dogs over the years who have lived to old age but it was made worse by the fact she was so young so I feel your pain x and sorry to hear about your mum and wishing her healing thoughts 🙏💜🙏 xx

Tony, what a rollercoaster of a video I’ve been sat here blubbering. Wondering what else is gonna come. Poor little Douglas, I can imagine how that must’ve felt for you with him being young. So good that you had those last few walks with him and his ball. Your Poor Mam, I hope things improve for her enough for her to still enjoy life and the new baby her great grandchild. And congratulations on the news of a addition to the family next year, how exciting. we are still waiting to become grandparents and like you have recently become proud grand dog sitters and I hope that grandchildren come along as quick as yours have. Look forward to seeing what you do with those Piri piri chilies I can already see that they are going to be hot because they keep catching you while you’re talking making you cough. I hope you washed your hands before you touched anything too. All the best, Tony keep your chin up enjoy the new season.

Fly free, Douglas! Fl6 free sweet boy! ❤️🐾❤️🙏🏻🕯🙏🏻❤️🐾❤️🐕🌈🕊 Dear Tony. I am so very very sorry to hear about your Douglas. It rips your heart out when you lose a much loved companion. We have lost too many of our fur kids. young and old. Strokes are hard on everyone. They affect the entire family and the cats... pups, who share their days. I understand the most important thing is early treatment post occurrence for best recovery and physio. No two ways about it, hard on everyone. Wishing you and yours all the very best to all the family and the new baby coming with the spring!

Tony, Douglas were very, very hurt. Animals can hide pain before their owner. Even if you take him those steroids you have to give them once a week. I know it's empty words. He was young, yes but he was very sick and in pain. You did a good thing for him. Believe me, you do want to look at your friend, or family who is hurting and you can do nothing, only wait all night when it is time to go to the vet.
