Hello Tony. I am a high school classmate of your mother. I first heard your quarantine diaries on Facebook and continue daily on KZbin. I love your voice and piano playing. It makes me envious, because I neither sing nor play any instrument. Please continue daily entertaining.

Although Michael McDonald's sublime slow burn torch song rendition is my favorite take on this song your version is by far the best of the more jangly upbeat versions including Ray Charles and Patsy Cline. Your piano technique.....chef's kiss! And that diving run at the end? Holy Cow! Makes me want to take up piano again. Excellently performed!!

I think one of the things I love best about you as a performer (and there are many, many things I love about you as a performer) is your ability to so masterfully slide among the different musical genres out there. It is always so natural, so accomplished and so heart-felt, as if you grew up only in that genre. I love all of your renditions of the standards, but as a performer, you have opened me up to new takes on music that I let pass me by over the years. "You Don't Know Me" is certainly one of those songs I have heard, but never REALLY heard until now. Thank you, Tony!

I would guess that almost all of us watching and listening to these daily interpretations of the "Great American Song Book" plus a few more recent songs feel the same way as expressed by "Heymjo" in the above posting. I myself am old enough to have experienced the original interpretations of these songs. I find almost every rendition by Tony is fresh, respectful, and sometimes a completely new interpretation, often bringing a smile to my face and in a few rare moments, a tear to an eye. It is just one of those .....

I agree! We first heard Tony Desare years ago in Philadelphia at Zanzibar Blue during Restaurant Week. I had no idea he would be there and wasn’t familiar with him. But since that night I have been a fan. I think he is more talented than Michael Bible and deserves to be recognized for the star he is!

Hi Tony. this song was the flip side of Ray's I Can't Stop Loving You and I've loved it ever since I first heard it when I found it in the mid 80s at a garage sale for only 10 cents. I bought a whole box of NOS 45 for only 10 guilders ($3,50 in todays money), all in mint unplayed condition. I love your channel, and I watch every upload you've made. Your video showing your newborn child actually made me cry.
@TonyDeSareMusic10 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, thanks so much for the message. I miss "B sides". Thanks for watching and I'll keep trying hard for you!
@syncopeter10 жыл бұрын
Tony, you e more than welcome. B sides are often the most interesting musically imho. By the way I loved that little clip were you showed your newborn child. It reminded me of Stevie Wonder's 'Isnt she lovely'. My own kids are 29 and 27 now, but I still cherish the feeling of them sleeping on my bare stomach. I was so jealous of my wife feeling them move inside her body and this was the closest I could get to them. I do love what you're doing musically. You're a great pianist and have a voice that matches that of Peter Cincotti et al.

Wonderful, Tony, as always! You asked for questions, so I'm trying to think of one that is truly thought-provoking. Hmm...is it really better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all? My heart doesn't have a definitive answer. I guess it's bittersweet. What do you think? Love, Ellen
